Methods of Operating a Camera

You may access the camera directly from your profile or homepage.

Swipe left on the home page or click the plus sign to add something. The Instagram camera interface will load. The following are the available video formats:

Video-Recording 101: Post, Story, Reel, and Live

A camera icon can be found in the right-hand corner. You may tap it to toggle between the front and rear cameras.

You can preview your picked video to the left of the camera symbol. After opening the camera from the homepage, you can select Post, Story, Reel, or Live by scrolling to the left or right.

Instagram Live

Live is the last option available. You only need to tap the button to begin recording; holding it down is not necessary.

The versatility of a completed Story is its most appealing aspect.

The filter and mask options are located beneath the record button. They will provide a professional touch to your Instagram video. The effect you select will be shown in the white circle at the centre of the screen. Click this link to start making your own Story.

Features

Some of the available options for documenting a Story are shown on the left. Open up the entire menu by clicking the arrow. Pick the appropriate equipment and start filming.
You may use Instagram’s Create feature to generate a story without adding a photo or video. Putting words in front of an eye-catching design is possible.

Boomerang. In this reverse playback mode, your video will first play normally. Everything you see here will appear three times in the same Story. Remember that Instagram Stories only record for 15 seconds, whereas Boomerang videos can be up to 5 seconds long.
Layout. Multiple recordings and pictures will be available. The app’s camera can only be used to create a collage. Videos shot on the phone must be uploaded in order to be included in the final collage.
With Hands-Free mode, you won’t even need to keep your finger on the record button. To begin recording a video, hit the button once; to stop, tap it again.
Instagram Stories can be bookmarked in the Highlights section. The videos you highlight will be added to your profile and will remain there until you remove them.

Instagram Reels

A maximum of 90 seconds is allowed.
Displayed: for all Reels viewers. If you add a Reel to the posts section of your profile, your followers will be able to watch it in their feed.
Instagram tutorial for creating a highlight reel:

Tap and hold the white button in the middle to record a Reel. When you let go, the recording stops.
To proceed, click the white “Preview” button.
Select Next to upload your reel.
Reels offer similar functions as Instagram Stories.

Features

Instagram Highlights are located on the left side of the screen. Pick one and use it as inspiration for an Instagram video.
Audio. You can now add music to your Instagram videos with the help of the Reels feature. They are compatible with the music of others. It could be a line from a song, a snippet of conversation, or even silence. Select an audio file, and then a section of the timeline.

To access the effects, select the corresponding icon on the left. The same masks and filters that appeared in Stories are available here. After making your selection, you can return to the camera interface by tapping the screen above.
Just add your own. Prove your interest in a hot topic by supporting it. When you’re at a loss for words and can’t decide what to share, this function could come in extremely handy. The topic and users who have backed it will be displayed on a sticker in your Reel.
The maximum duration of a Reel is 90 seconds. 15 seconds, 30 seconds, or 90 seconds are your options. More on how this helps when in Hands-Free mode below.
Speed. Instagram Stories can be played at normal speed or sped faster. To access the menu, use the “1x” button.
