More about HTC Hero

As mentioned on previous post, HTC Hero is finally here with recommended retail price at RM 2399  (I’m expecting below 2K, rough guess). Pretty high if you ask me, but you pay what you get, right?

Price used to determine the success of anything on the market, second after the physical appearance. And I can’t forget iPhone here, sorry. As comparison, the price is on par with 16GB/8GB iPhone 3G/3Gs, which priced almost that one on the grey market. Getting it from Maxis is surely cheaper, but you’re locked under contract for certain period of times.

Let’s put that aside. HTC Hero has 2 color are available to choose from, they called it ‘urban brown’ and absolute white’. Brown color looks more elegant to me though. Each HTC Hero equipped with with 2GB MicroSD card as standard feature.

HTC Sense, the HTC’s very own user interface if going to be available on HTC Hero as well. To describe what HTC Sense is, there is no better page, than HTC’s webpage. And for more features, I copy and paste the ‘Product Factsheet’ below. So that’s all folks.

Celcom’s Blackberry Storm VS Maxis’s iPhone

3405056063 c5c1856d07 o Celcoms Blackberry Storm VS Maxiss iPhone

Celcom step up the game of smart phone rivalry, for its incoming Blackberry Storm release, by putting up the comparison table between Storm and product-I, which clearly aimed to Maxis’s iPhone, on features that iPhone 2.2 OS lacking with now.

Well, for common user, they might not outdated with the latest technology. But I guess this ads will backfired soon, as some of the comparison listed such as MMS, tethering (use mobile phone as modem) and document editor (if they means copy and paste) is going to be available soon. Other function such as video recording can be achieved using iPhone app.

And please keep in mind that Maxis’s iPhone is legally unlocked and can be updated anytime, when iPhone 3.0 OS released this summer.

I’m still waiting how much this device going tobe.

The gorgeous HTC Touch Pro 2 phone

My first impression on the Touch Pro 2 is, this is real gorgeous phone. Rarely I complement any phone with this very ‘kind tone’. Not as lucky as US gadget writers who manage to get hand-ons with it though, but the aura of its prettiness can be felt by just looking on it. Maybe only for me, but this means , HTC is successful in attracting consumer with pretty design.

But what’s inside?  It has huge 3.6-inch TFT-LCD touch-sensitive screen with 480 X 800 WVGA resolution.  And then full QWERY keyboard which can be slide in and out to provide greater typing experience.  Erm, it run on Windows Mobile 6.1 professionl. 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus as main camera and VGA CMOS camera should provide decent quality of video call.

Other features including GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi, FM Radio and HTC  USB. More detail here.

A quick check on HTC regional website, doesn’t found this phone there. Probably because it is scheduled to be shipped only on late Q2 2009, somewhere around June perhaps. No pricing detail available too.

Btw, HTC just opened new store at Plaza Berjaya.
