Opera Turbo boost Opera perfomance on slow internet connection

The introduction of Opera Turbo recently, really tempting me to download and try Opera browse. The ‘term’ Turbo itself sounds something that can move fast, right? Yeah, but before you get excited with this ‘turbo’,  you have to understand exactly what Opera Turbo can do, and to whom it is for.

As stated by Opera Lab, Opera Turbo is “server-side optimization and compression technology that provides significant improvements in browsing speeds over limited-bandwidth connections by compressing network traffic” .

So got it? The main point that anyone interested with Opera Turbo should paying attention to is, it is only improve performance or the browsing speed on slow connection. Anyone run on high bandwith internet connection won’t be able to benefit most from this feature. But, it still useful if you’re in spooky internet connection places, such as airport or shopping mall.

Powering Opera Turbo is “Opera Web Optimization Proxy” technology that compress all images but retain layout and font on that website. Dynamic content such as Flash and Ajax are supported, but it will only get loaded when upon clicking on it.

Opera recommend to use NetLimiter 2 Pro on Windows and the pipe command on the Mac to test and simulate what shown on video above, and then limit the bandwidth to 100Kbps.
