Finally I manage to squeeze my time to post the unboxing images and videos of Nokia N8. This is my first Nokia smartphone (yep, smartphone), although I did own some basic Nokia phone before. Why I finally bought Nokia? To be honest, it’s the Nokia N8 hardware and design that really sold me. Symbian^3 works just so so, although I feel there is still huge room for improvement. Nokia, you hear that. More review will come later, hopefully. So at the mean time, please enjoy the video as well as photos below.
Psst, this is my second (or third) video I posted in this blog, so apologize for the low quality
The Nokia N8 box with the paper beg, only from Nokia stores.
Another closer looks, well, nothing so great about the box
If you want to try out the new Nokia N8 with production firmware , have yourself visiting Sungai Wang plaza this weekend. Nokia has setup up special booth to showcase the phone as well as to let passerby experience the phone themselves.
If you have tried the pre-production Nokia N8 and feel the sluggishness, it’s good chance to play with the final piece of software as the final review from Engadget or GigaOM and Techradar provide dome positive point to the OS. Certain Nokia store such as KLCC that I walk-in yesterday doesn’t even have demo phone just yet.
In one event today in KL city, Nokia has announced the price of Nokia N8, and if you one of those that admire this smartphone and perhaps had pre-ordered it, you should be grateful that it is indeed cheap. Yeah, with all those specification, Nokia N8 is priced at only RM1690. Believe it. For comparison, other smartphone such as HTC Aria and Blackberry Bold is priced at around Rm1699 and RM1800 respectively.
To remind you again, what’s make Nokia N8 so special is the overall design, that doesn’t looks like others. Main specs includes 12 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optic with autofocus and xenon flash, Video capture in 720p 25 fps with codecs H.264, MPEG-4, a6GB internal memory with MicroSD memory card slot, hot swappable, up to 32 GB and of course the first Nokia smartphone running on Symbian ^3.
The Nokia N8 will available beginning 16 October for those that pre-ordered
