The real Lauren in ‘I’m a PC’ TV commercial

laurendelong The real Lauren in Im a PC TV commercialThis is another I’m a PC commercial run by Microsoft targeting its chief rival, Apple as the focus. The storyline this time, ‘Lauren goes in search of a laptop – with “speed”, a comfortable keyboard, and a 17-inch screen – for under $1,000‘. If she can get it, she can keep it, that how the ads goes

I has caused a stir when it was aired on TV in the North America. You can guess why ,because this is just another never ending PC vs Mac commercial wars . We all know this is just commercial about the pricing war, but somehow, the human being is unpredictable. Someone goes another miles to dig who  ‘Lauren’ is, which turn out an actress name Lauren De Long who lives in Los Angeles. I guess she never expect to be an instant hit like this, and on internet because of this commercial.

Although, she portrayed as geeks on the commercial, but you can judge the real person by her photos above.  The commercial targeted only for North America, but who know there will be regional version later? And if you notice, this is only the first hunt for PC commercial, based on the ads title ‘Laptop Hunters #1 – Lauren

There are more Lauren bio on Apple 2.0 and photos at Gizmodo. See, how the big tech blog has become PerezHilton version of tech fame..

Meet the new Internet Explorer 8

Number 8 used to be popular number among Chinnesse (and even otherie8 Meet the new Internet Explorer 8races), because  of its relation with ‘luck’ .  So , will Internet Explorer 8 has that ‘luck’ this year?

In case you have not heard about this, the final piece of web browser from Microsoft, Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) is officially released and available for download started last night.

Microsoft touted IE8, as the best ever Internet Explorer version it ever developed. On the eve of the final release, Microsoft create a series of test to demo that it is, as fast as other browser.

IE8 also said to provide the best security protection as quoted by NSS Labs “NSS Labs indicates that Internet Explorer 8 blocks two to four times as many malicious sites as other browsers on the market today.”

In term of usability and productivity, Internet Explorer 8 comes with accelerator, web slices, visual search suggestion, private browsing, colour tab and etc.

But, off all these interesting features, Microsoft forgot, how the human being are, when a buggy message could kill all the curiosity an excitement toward it.

Even during installation, you’re already ‘hammered’ with the message requesting you to install an update. Why this message there? Potential bug to covered?  That update is for Vista!!

ie8 prompt Meet the new Internet Explorer 8

This remind me back of 1 tips that one of my guru said to me – ‘Target MSN/Live traffic (usually use Internet Explorer as default seach engine or ‘home’), because the users are either who’re  new to the technology or not technology savvy‘

Clearly, Internet Explorer 8 is for these peoples..

Ah, forget it, that’s just the dream!

Not really actually. At least that’s what how Microsoft vision the future on the their Microsoft Office Labs‘s 2019.

Looking on the present trend, where touch screen technology is one of the must feature on devices such as  smart phones and Microsoft very own Microsoft Surface, certain vision being showcased on the video is not that far away.

It still needs more touch up indeed, but as long as the ideas are properly crafted, nothing is impossible anymore.
