The second Windows Phone 7 smartphone (after HTC HD7) just landed in our shores, thanks to Celcom. It’s LG Optimus 7 , the phone that you do not expect to be here this fast. Nevertheless, you got another choice of Windows Phone 7, especially those that’s not fancy to HTC phone. And this is the phone that comes with free premium application worth of USD30 every 60 days!!
Not only that, the first 150 customers who register online will be able to purchase the phone at RM777, about a third of the retail price, RM2099. Comes with the phone is the new Celcom Exec plan which is quite tempting and affordable than before. The plan started from RM78, which consist of RM50 worth of voice/sms plan and data worth of RM28, limited only to 300MB of data), followed by RM88, RM118 and RM250. The registration ends on 30th November.
Off all Windows Phone 7 smartphone manufacturer, perhaps LG has one of the brightest idea to promote it’s phone. LG Optimus is LG’s main bid to gain entry into Windows Phone 7 market. Well, design wise it may little bit behind the like of HTC and Samsung, but how about giving something for free. And that’s what they just announced today, 10 free premium applications worth more than $30 will be given away every 60 days. The application can be downloaded directly from LG Application Store which is accessible only from LG phone.
The first 10 apps will be given away is already available on LG Facebook page, which varies from different app category from utility , music, games and etc. Do you think the free apps are tempting enough to get people jump to certain device?
LG’s first Android phone ,GW620 aka Eve is now available in Malaysian market according to this ads, adding another Android phone to the still lacking powerful Android Smartphone in the market. My prediction; this is not the phone that existing Android users are looking for. Although the phone is competitively priced at RM1499, LG Gw620 is still lacking the latest Android OS 2.1 that is already powering most Android phone in the US. In fact, it’s running only on Android 1.5, behind even HTC Hero which runs on Android 1.6 when it is already available since last year.
Nevertheless, if you are on budget and looking for non HTC Android smartphone, LG Gw620 is one of the few models currently in the market. The spec is not bad with 5 Megapixel camera, slide QWERTY keypad but you have to live with non-capacitive touchscreen. Hit the review link for in depth review .
LG Arena KM900 is another touch screen phone from LG. It comes with 3” WVGA (480X800) TFT/Touch screen, 5MP camera and storage 2GB NAND Flash/1GB SDRAM + 8GB. Not a bad setup of hardware, from companies that more famously known with home appliances.
But LG Arena’s strength lies on it S-Class user interface, which display the menu in 3D, called 3D cube to browse its 4 different screens – contacts, widgets, shortcuts and home screen. The home screen’s shortcut menu can be scrolled line by line, and it will showing all shortcuts when it viewed horizontally.
