secure iphone4 Five Easy Steps To iPhone Security

With iPhone 4 frenzy continue to last until the next couple of weeks here in Malaysia as well as other countries, do not taking  lightly about the possible threat that could harm your iPhone and it’s user. If the iPhone is meant for your kids, it’s a good idea to start thinking of securing your loves one from anything that could possibly hurt them. Fortinet FortiGuard Labs has released short but useful article that will be a basis to get started with. Read on.

Five Easy Steps to iPhone Security!

Apple’s latest shiny new iPhone 4 gadgets may have taken the world by storm but in the same vein, such mobile devices are now becoming a key target for cybercriminals and mobile spyware.

Why? Well, your trusty iPhone contains your closely guarded personal information, including photographs, contact database, possibly your credit card details, banking information, email exchanges, personal address, etc. It also connects you to tens if not hundreds of Internet applications that make your life easier. So now, imagine all this information falling into unscrupulous hands, a psychotic stalker, or becoming public information overnight!

This is exactly what a mobile spyware can do once it has entrenched itself in your iPhone. This insidious, crafty malware can secretly tap your phone calls, record and transfer SMS/MMS/e-mail messages, locate you geographically, listen to your surroundings, take pictures, downloads contacts, log activity… or steal your online banking credentials like the infamous Eeki worm did.

So, even if it has not been affected yet, do not underestimate the potential vulnerability of your iPhone. Taking care of your iPhone security is very much like taking care of your child.
Education plays an important role!

Follow these essential security tips to protect your iPhone and its data:

1. Would you let your child answer a stranger?

No. So, do not open unknown SMS or MMS on your iPhone.

2. Just before buying your child a new game, wouldn’t you check if it’s suitable for his/her age or if other parents consider it as an interesting game?

You probably try to. The same applies to your phone: gather as much information as possible before downloading an unknown application (search for comments and reviews from other users,
scan for online against viruses etc).

3. Do you inoculate your child against polio?

Then, you might consider installing an anti-virus on your mobile phone, or at least check anti-virus reports regularly.

4. Imagine a highly dangerous virus was circulating in your child’s school. Wouldn’t you keep him/her away, until any risks have disappeared?

Similarly, do not connect your iPhone to an infected computer and run anti-virus software on your PC or laptop to make sure it is malware-free before connecting your iPhone for synchronization.

5. When your child is harmed, wouldn’t you report it to some official authority (school, police, medical doctor)?

Do the same with your phone. Do not fear to report suspicious activities to your operator, your bank, consumer groups, anti-virus companies or in worse cases to the nearby police station. The
more we are aware, the more we can all fight against criminality.

Digi’s iPhone 4 Teaser Image Hint Release Data On 24th September

digi iphone4 teaser 450x150 Digis iPhone 4 Teaser Image Hint Release Data On 24th September

Maxis might beat Digi in the race of unveiling iPhone 4 release date alongside it’s plan, but it appears Digi might have something to counter that. It is easy guess. The image of 4 apples with a goat posted on Digi Facebook page can be read as iPhone 4 (4 apples) coming (goat called ‘kambing’ in Malay which pronounced closed to ‘coming ) on 24.09.2010 at Digi. It could be either the release date or announcement date, although I’m more incline to believe this is the date Digi will announce their iPhone 4 release date and the plan accompanying it. Who has the better price and plan? We’ll see on 24th yea!

Maxis To Launches iPhone 4 On 26 September

Finally, it is here.  iPhone 4 is officially hit our shores  through Maxis beginning 26th September and available nationwide the following day. All phones comes mandatory with data and sms/call plan with 12/24 months contract (sorry no prepaid at the moment). As for the iPhone 4 price itself is vary, it depend on how long the contract and how much you pay monthly. It is even free if you subscribe iValue 4 for 2 years. Of all, iValue1 is the most affordable package and with 2 years contract, it could be yours from RM1390. This the source link for more information.

Digi To Launch iPhone 4 Next Week?

Digi iPhone4 Digi To Launch iPhone 4 Next Week?

The latest email from Digi sent today reveal that Digi will launch iPhone 4 next week. The exact date is still unknown but Digi promise to release more update in coming days. This update brought an end to the endless speculation about when iPhone will finally hit our shores. But do you think it’s already late?

It took almost 2 months for the iPhone 4 launch to materialize since pre-registration opened in July. I always wondering why it took so long for iPhone and iPad to be launch here, unlike other Apple devices such as Macbook or iPod. During this period, grey importer has brought iPhone 4 from countries such as Singapore and Hong Kong with very competitive price. This will cannibalizing iPhone 4 sales from both carriers, Digi and Maxis in the long run.

But well, there is still demand for iPhone 4 from users who prefer the subsidized phone with contract. And Maxis, I believe they will not stay silent upon seeing this update from Digi. How soon they will react is still to be seen, but I strongly believe they will launch iPhone 4 next week as well. Suddenly iPhone 4 become center of attention once again. Barely few weeks after Apple Peel 52o making headlines as the first case that provide iPod Touch with functionality to works like iPhone , it’s first rival has emerged. Simply called tPhone which happen to be company from China as well, it is hard plastic case that provide the similar functionality to iPod Touch as Apple Peel 520.

The casing equipped with a non-removable 1200mAh battery, a dock connector, a SIM card slot , top and side buttons for the iPod touch, 3.5″ audio jack,  power button to activate the adapter and a mini USB port for recharging. Pretty much everything that Apple Peel 530 has minus the mini USB port. It’s lack of vibrating motor as well.

On the software side, an app called ‘Dial’ need to be installed only at jailbroken iPod Touch, yeah you need to jailbreak your iPod Touch in order for it to be installed, from Cydia. On the looks, it looks bulky, in fact bulkier than Apple Peel 520, but that’s the price you have to pay if you’re not willing to fork out more money for an iPhone.

tPhone ‘s unconfirmed price tag is $700 yuan or about USD103. With the combined price of casing and the iPod Touch, it seems that it is no longer viable alternative to iPhone, at least to me.
