Maxis might beat Digi in the race of unveiling iPhone 4 release date alongside it’s plan, but it appears Digi might have something to counter that. It is easy guess. The image of 4 apples with a goat posted on Digi Facebook page can be read as iPhone 4 (4 apples) coming (goat called ‘kambing’ in Malay which pronounced closed to ‘coming ) on 24.09.2010 at Digi. It could be either the release date or announcement date, although I’m more incline to believe this is the date Digi will announce their iPhone 4 release date and the plan accompanying it. Who has the better price and plan? We’ll see on 24th yea!
Digi Offer iPhone Without Contract
In another sign that impending iPhone 4 is nearer, Digi has started offering iPhone 3GS/3G without contract. But there is catch. You must Digi’s existing postpaid customer, and must subscribe to Digi’s data iDiGi Internet Unlimited 3GB plan (RM68/permonth) . You can purchase the iPhone with price as above, well, it still quite expensive. Bu to sweeten the deal, there is rebates for the data service worth RM25 per month for 24 months, which bring the total to RM600. So in case you subscribed the plan for 24 months , you’re actually paying RM600 less for your iPhone. So is it worth? Hit the source link below for more info.

Maxis Drops iPhone Price
Maxis is having iPhone special mid year sale from now until 31st July 2010. No surprise with the ‘special’ term here as we knows that iPhone 4 will be here in a month or two. The price for iPhone is slashed between RM200 – RM600 depend on the contract you’re opt to. The price cut is however available for 24 months contract. Keep in mind as well that, prepayment of monthly fee is required which will be credited back for your monthly bill.
For the sake of comparison, the cheapest monthly bill available from Maxis is RM100 which already includes data and voice+sms, versus Rm60 by Digi.
Now I can call this is the real iPhone price cut.

Digi Slash iPhone 3GS and 3G Prices and iDigi Plans!
Update 8-July-2010 : It appears this whole post is incorrect due to my failure interpreting the wording use on Digi iPhone page. The correct iPhone price is shown at ‘Payment Option’ tab which I failed to observed earlier. Thanks to commentator who notify about this.

I’m telling you yesterday that right now is probably the most suitable time to get iPhone 3GS, and looks like I’m quite right here. iPhone 4 is gonna be here later sooner or later, and existing stock must be cleared out. To get job done fast and hassle free, cutting the iPhone price and plan is the easiest way!! So there you go. Digi appears to be the first to do so , but Maxis will follow the suit pretty suit I think.
With monthly fee as low as RM60 permonth and RM1390 for iPhone3GS 16GB, getting an iPhone is more affordable nowadays. This is RM28 and RM1100 price drop for plan and iPhone price respectively! That’s huge cut man! But bear in mind this comes with 2 years contract, and if you’re heavy users 1GB data cap might no sufficient. You can opt for iDigi138, an RM90 plan that let you buy iPhone 3GS 16G for RM890!! That’s even cheaper, if you really use that much, why not right??

Despite all hype surrounding iPhone 4, I just got myself iPhone 3GS, pretty late isn’t?? Well, I’m just taking advantage of the iPhone 3GS price drop and land this phone pretty cheap, although it took sometime to get it shipped from the US. It’s new set (according to the seller although this looks like replacement set, but good news the phone’s serial number is unregistered and need to be activated through iTune) and unlocked. The set is the iPhone itself without any accessories such as earphone, USB cable and charger.
If you’re thinking of getting iPhone, and you’re not keen with the ridiculously expensive iPhone 4 currently being imported by grey marketers, iPhone 3GS is the right choice and I’m expecting the price going to down further, and who knows there is wholesale when iPhone 4 released by hopefully this August!!
Here are some of the photos the iPhone 3GS with my 2 years old iPhone 2G and iPod Touch 2nd gen.
