No Windows Phone 7 Series Upgrade for HTC HD2?

htc hd2 No Windows Phone 7 Series Upgrade for HTC HD2?

This unexpected news from APC is going to make HTC HD2 users broken heart. After long rumored that HTC HD2 will be the only Windows Mobile device that will receive update to Windows Phone 7 Series, a Microsoft general manager broke the news that Windows Mobile 6.X will not receive the update.

Curious why? It simply, because current WinMo devices including HTC HD2 has 5 button instead of 3 buttons that Windows Phone 7 Series suppose to have. Sounds ridiculous to many, but it is probably has something to do with the functionaly of the OS itself.  If this is real, it still wiser for Microsoft to let existing HTC HD2 users to receive the update, although that means the extra 2 button will malfunction, instead of facing the backlash from them.

The news could pose another blow to already troubling Windows Mobile phone. Expect the sale of Windows Mobile smart phone going to dive in the span of 8 months until the Windows Phone 7 Series finally reaching the market. Who would ever wants smartphone that cannot be upgraded, when the new and more powerful will be coming soon?

With it’s impressive spec, HC HD2 is almost confirmed as the most powerful soon to be called Windows Phone Classic, the re-branding of Windows Mobile, once the Windows Phone 7 series out to the market by end of this year. And that’s because of the extra button..

Download Office 2010, Win HTC HD2

office 2010 malaysia Download Office 2010, Win HTC HD2

The new Office 2010 Beta has been released since November 2009, but not everyone eager to download and using it. After all, it is just productivity tool, not some kind of new operating system,  ROM for smartphone or even games.

To create an awareness among Malaysian and encourage user to download and test this application suite, Microsoft Malaysia has setup website specially for that purpose. Offi2010 website links with Microsoft website to provide every information related with Office 2010.

To sweeten the promotion, a brand new HTC HD2 smartphone will be given away each month to anyone that submit the best feedback or testimonial. That means you have to download and try it out in order to give ‘true’ feedback, correct?

If the notebook image on the website (above is the screen shot) is to be believed and I understand it correctly, a notebook also will be given away as the grand price. It is pretty good deal, because what you need to do is just download it, test it ‘kaw-kaw‘ and submit feedback about your experience using Office 2010.

You can follow Microsoft at Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date with them.

Couple with the fact that Windows Mobile 6.5.3 had just been released, HTC HD2 as HTC’s flagship phone, might be among the first to taste the new OS version.

And in case HTC HD2 is destined not to get an upgrade to Windows Phone 7 Series, I have feeling that XDA dev folks will come out with modified ROM for this phone , because in terms of hardware, HTC HD2 is just good enough to run the newest OS from Microsoft.
