My first post to spread awareness about printing habit is an instant hit. It become of one of the top post in this blog. The ‘Please Consider the environment before printing this email’ campaign is campaign to remind people not to print unless it is absolute necessary to do that. The campaign itself has spread to the whole world, and it can be seen on email more often that before.
If you still unsure how to setup that signature, head to ThinkBeforePrint.org. They have dedicated web page with an easy and better way to have that signature in your email or web page on their . Check out their guide and together we make our world a greener place to live forever.
Being the largest computer manufacturer in the world, HP probably has delivered the most notebooks in the world and probably in Malaysia too. One of notebook component, battery is ‘well-known’ as not a nature friendly stuff. So it was just the right timing when HP organize 2 months battery recycling promotion, called Live Green with HP Recycling Promo to recycle its own old battery brand.
The cool thing is, peoples who bring their old batteries for recycling purpose won’t going back home empty handed. Instead, HP is giving away thumb drive, cash vouchers and chargers for those that eligible for the program . Free stuff won’t come frequently you know!
If you haven’t seen or heard about this, please do so, but don’t let it change your mind about e-waste (electronic waste) recycling, even though the way it is being disposed is totally prohibited
We often heard about how the radioactive waste from developed countries being exported to 3rd world countries to be disposed (if I recall correctly, few years back there was a ship fully loaded with plutonium waste which wasn’t allowed to use Strait of Melaka on its way to 3rd world country for disposal). But in reality, the same way goes to e-waste.
For whatever reason, such waste should be disposed upon where the waste is originated (usually developed countries), and are not sent to developing or 3rd world countries. Even though the rules and law exist to prevent this, but being greedy can overcome anything.
This day passes by unnoticed by most of us especially during the the current price hike season. Environment day is celebrated every year to stimulate worldwide awareness of the environment.
