Green is the new ‘favorite’ color for electronic manufactures nowadays. The new Dell G-Series monitor is one such things. It is common that power saving touted when ‘green’ is mentioned on any self-proclaim ‘green’ product. But G-Series has more than that. It is green right from the production that use recyclable corrugated cardboard instead of foam and compact packaging with less 25% in size and 28% in weight.
The chassis and cable is made from material that free of arsenic, mercury, polyvinyl chloride, BFR and CFR.
Power saving as the ‘main’ green feature is powered by Ambient Light Sensor, PowerNap, and Dynamic Dimming. The combination of these 3 features be able to reduce power consumption, decrease brightness and put the monitor off whenever left idle.
All these ‘green’ feature doesn’t make this monitor boring. Max resolution is up to 1680 X 1050 at 60 Hz. It also has 16.7 million colors, 5ms response time and 0.282 mm pixel pitch. It support DVI-D and VGA connectivity, but it is quite disappointing no USB port or card readers included here like our previous 24″ monitor.
G series flat panel monitor only available at size 22″ and above with starting price from RM799. More detail and photo galleries.
