Google finally lift the curtain for it’s first Chrome OS notebook, simply called Cr48. With black color and plain design without any fancy stripe or even Chrome logo, it looks like the notebooks from 90′s era. It is not as sleek as you’re expected, but this working prototype is meant only for pilot program, which currently open only to folk in the US. The end product most likely from notebook vendor, should looks better than this one.

Cr48 is equipped only with basic specs that’s include Wifi and 3G (which is a must as you’ll live on the cloud) as well as webcam. But it is underneath the notebook that will be most interesting, the Chrome OS that promise to boot in 10 seconds, resume from sleep instantly.

Other specs include 12 inch screen, battery which can last for 8 hours active usage and a week standby. As noted earlier, the only way now to test the notebook is via the pilot program which only open in the US, hit the source link for further detail and to register your interest. For the rest of the world, wait till Q1 2011 ya!

4326615472 e2cc16d804 Chrome OS Tablet To Be Launched In November?

Well, this is rather interesting news, if it is real. It’s tablet news guys! Chrome OS tablet will be launched in the US via Verizon according to Download Squad who got the tips from it’s source. HTC is again tasked to develop the tablet with input from Google. No surprise here.  The exact release date is 26th November which is Black Friday. According to Download Squad again, the hardware will be based on Vidia’s Tegra 2 platform with 1280×720 multitouch screen, 2GB of RAM, 32GB SSD, WiFi/Bluetooth/3G connectivity, GPS, webcam, and multi-card reader.

Chrome OS tablet concept is nothing new, as the sketch of the device has appeared since early February, one week after iPad released. With the right strategy and price, Chrome OS tablet can be the first serious contender in tablet device which monopolized by Apple iPad. iPad Killer?? I don’t think so, well actually I prefer Android tablet rather than Chrome OS tablet.

Chromium OS Vendors Spotted On Chromium OS Git Repository

Chromium OS Vendors Spotted On Chromium OS Git Repository

We all know that Chromium OS will finally unveiled someday, but we just don’t know when that will happens. It might be soon, if what folks at DownloadSquad spotted on Chromium OS Git repository, is an indication that vendor are currently customizing the OS based on their own configuration.  The 3 vendors are the leading computer manufacturer HP, Acer and Dell.

It is interesting to see if Chrome OS will making it’s debut on PC platform or tablet that we all know is the hottest gadget this year. But as Android is more dominant on the later, I foresee it will most likely make it debut on the PC, the platform where Google is still less recognized. Furthermore the earliest Chromium OS was released on desktop, but remember there is also Chromium OS concept previewed in tablet. Now things become interesting again..

p/s : Not to get confused,  Chrome is browser, and Chromium OS is an OS

How To Chrome Firefox

It’s known fact that human creativity is border-less.  Here is how the creativity was applied to tech. Google Chrome looks and feels in Firefox, anyone? It is neat and pretty closed to Chrome, especially the forward and backward button, refresh and Home button. Even the page tab is quite closed, but because of the page tab implementation in Firefox and Chrome is different, the end result is not too closed. Thanks to TylerC that develop this theme, called Chromifox.

As a matter of fact, Google Chrome is third most used web browser, behind only Firefox in term of market share.
