This new Gmail Labs feature is very useful if you ever work with people from different regions. You want to reply to them, but you want them to read this immediately while they’re in front of computer, instead of stack up on him mailbox, and only being read when they comeback tomorrow morning.

That’s how Sender Time Zone will be able to assist you.

So now you know when this email has been sent and the time over there now. So do you still want to call them in the middle of the night??

Gmail in iPhone and Android get new engine, offline feature and UI enhancement

Google yesterday introduced new mobile browser version of Gmail, that said to be faster when user performs any action on iPhone or Android powered devices, such as reading or archiving email. The foundation behind all this speed is  HTML5 and Google Gears which is known,  for it effectiveness managing the web cache.Google Gears also will keep your devices connected even on the flaky connection.

Beside the speed, mobile web browser version of Gmail also received enhancement on how it make even easier now for any user to manage their inbox. Now there is floaty bar appears near the top of the screen. There are options such as to archive, delete, and more. The floaty bar stays with you when you scroll down or up your inbox. This is time saver as user no longer needed to scroll up or down to press such buttons in order to delete or archive any email,  which available only at the top and bottom of the screen.

Final improvement is on the Label functionality. Gmail bring the Gmail’s labellings for desktop functionality to the mobile version, which mean now, it is even easier to use and looks more familiar with it.

Gmail turns 5

Last Thursday, Gmail turn 5, a quite achievement for the Gmail team. Human at this old, has enrolled to kindergarten, started to learn letters and reading, mathematics and etc. Brilliant kids do much greater things, including solving complex mathematics for instance .

But Gmail is not human, although it was invented by human.. genius human being. It has changed how mailbox suppose to be, beyond its traditional function of sending and reading email. Gmail has transformed email to the extent, that it was like other not an email application, which is great. You can chat, create and manage task and many more. But it still not free from outage, which hurt millions of users.

Search Autocomplete improves Gmail search functionality

Search Autocomplete is new Gmail Lab, introduced to assist you finding anything on your Gmail account, from emails in inbox, outbox, folders to the person name and email address from your contact book.

To get it to work, please enable it from Gmail Lab. As you typing few letters , Search Autocomplete will list down whatever subject, name or file that match with the letters.

Finding any media type or attachment also has been improved, with the introduction of simple operator that anyone can remember easily.

For instance if you want to search for photos, as you typing the first few letter for pictures, images or photos, autocomplete will suggest ‘has photos‘ and turn the key phrase to ‘filename:(jpg OR png)’ . It will search every email with images.

Other useful operator is in:inbox if want to find email that only located in inbox.
