The lack of 2 ways email status sync for email is quite disappointing after sometime . At the moment, only actions ( such as read, sent emails) from Blackberry device will sync toward the web based email (eg Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail), but not the other way round.
That’s pretty annoying if you have read hundreds of email from other email program (web browser, Gmail app in Andoird, iPhone), but have to mark it as already read ,manually in Blackberry, just for example.
Some good news is, the rumors about upcoming BIS 3.0 is said to overcome this issue. But apparently that’s only for Gmail plugin, so I guess other email have to stick with 1 way sync until.. I have no idea when.
The original source where this info first leaked, has uploaded document BIS 3.0 which apparently has been taken down.
I certainly hope this is for real!

You sure don’t want to miss this 2 useful ‘Bob’ Gmail lab plugin. It’s there to assist you selecting the accurate email recipients list whenever you’re composing an email.
Don’t forget Bob - Once you pick some email recipients, Gmail suggests more people you might want to include based on the groups of people you email most often. - Unlike Outlook where we can create distribution list to include the list of email address, Gmail does not have that feature. You tend to memorize the email address, or list down it somewhere else. This is where this lab came in handy, it will remind you to include the list of people that met condition described above, in case you missed them.

Got the wrong Bob? - Doh, have you ever addressed an email too quickly, and included Bob (your boss) instead of Bob (your friend) by accident? If you’re emailing more than two people at once, Gmail will check if you meant to include Bob Smith rather than Bob Jones based on the groups of people you email most often. - I bet you have experienced this before, I just wish Outlook to have this feature as well!

Both Gmail lab plugin has to be enabled before it can be used. From within GMail, go to Setting >> Lab and looks for the plugin name above.
Google has nothing to fear even to have its nearest rival in web mail to advertise their email service right on its Gmail as shown on the below. Gmail still fresh from being the no. 1 web-mail in India, which is previously Yahoo Mail strong hold for very long time.
Being dominant in online advertising, Google is open for anyone to advertise their own service
On the other side, Yahoo is taking the bold move to have this advertisement, considering that, Gmail users are most likely use Yahoo Mail or Hotmail, including myself before. Yahoo Mail has received numerous enhancement over the year, including introducing AJAX based interface, open application and become even more social-like website, with hope to gain back the market share it is losing so far.

If you open your Gmail today, there is chance that you’ll seeing this notification to update your secondary email address for the purpose of password recovery/reset on top of your mailbox screen.
This is the first time I notice this notification appear there, and probably part of Google effort to remind users, to enter correct secondary email for password recovery purpose of your Google account in case of any incidents that leads you to miss/forgotten the password.
This recovery process included using text message/SMS announced recently. It still not available here in Malaysia though, where email is the only method to reset the password.
If you click on ‘Update this address’, it will bring you to another screen below, where you can verify your email and enter you mobile number. Once yo update, the notification no longer showing up there.
Do you notice this??

Gmail add new feature to simplify the process of unsubscribing newsletter or mailing list from within Gmail. By now, after you click on ’show details’, you’ll notice new ‘unsubscribe from this sender’ link available.
According to the Gmail blog post, clicking the link will automatically send a request back to the sender so they’ll stop emailing you.
This unsubsribe option is not visible for email from suspected spammers (after all they’re spammers right??)

Gmail said this is not working for all senders at the moment. In my observation of emails that have the unsubscribe link and those that not.
Email from sender with Gmail unsubscribe links
- Google Alerts
- Subscibed comments
Email from senders without the Gmail unsubscribe links
- RSS subsribed post
- Getrepond
- Aweber
