After lackluster sales with it’s other smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S proven to be huge success for Samsung. It reported that 1 millions of Samsung Galaxy S has been sold in the US alone in 45 days. Even before the US release, 1 millions unit of Samsung Galaxy S has been sold worldwide in 19 days . The combined sales is over 2 millions unit until today, a quite an achievement for the Samsung’s first truly high end Android smartphone. Samsung target sales of 10 millions unit of Samsung Galaxy line up worlwide.
Samsung Salaxy S receipt of success can be contributed mainly to it’s external looks; the super thin design and lightweight casing with super AMOLED display. The Android factor has it’s fare share as well with the promised Android 2.2 software update coming to the smartphone pretty soon. Samsung Galaxy S reflect how carefully designed Android smartphone could be a hit as well.

To Motorola Milestone users, this news is absolutely what you’re craving for. In Europe, the Android 2.2 aka Froyo software update will begin on Q4 this year, which is about the year end. The update will be rolled out to South Korea as well almost at the same time. But for the rest of countries in Asia-Pacific regions, the update path is still unclear, but hopefully soon. According to Motorola Software Update page, Android 2.2 update in that region is still under evaluation. While I’m not sure what kind of evaluation is that, why don’t you just rolled out the update to everyone. So everyone will ending one happy customer, and you’ll be happy if they become returning customer.

This message should suffice to assure HTC Desire users in Asia Pacific that the anticipated Android 2.2 aka Froyo will began soon. According to message posted by HTC Singapore in Facebook, which re-posted by HTC Malaysia, the roll out will begin on September and onward. No words which country will receive the update first. The software update notification usually happen on-the-air (OTA), so there is nothing to worry about if your HTC Desire hasn’t receive the notification, as that means, the update is not yet ready in your area.
