Digi has unveiled it’s iPhone 4 plan, I would say the most affordable plan, started from RM58. That’s all available for now. The details of plan and the iPhone 4 price itself is not yet available at their iPhone 4 web page. Digi will start selling iPhone 4 tomorrow (24th September) as 45 Digi Store nationwide. Which store has the stock is still unknown as well. Till then, more to come as Digi update their website.
Update 1
Malaysian Wireless manage to get the leaked images of what is the Digi’s iPhone 4 plan and device price. At a glance, the device looks expensive compared to what is offered by Maxis. And the cheapest plan is RM63 not RM58 as indicated on Digi website

Maxis might beat Digi in the race of unveiling iPhone 4 release date alongside it’s plan, but it appears Digi might have something to counter that. It is easy guess. The image of 4 apples with a goat posted on Digi Facebook page can be read as iPhone 4 (4 apples) coming (goat called ‘kambing’ in Malay which pronounced closed to ‘coming ) on 24.09.2010 at Digi. It could be either the release date or announcement date, although I’m more incline to believe this is the date Digi will announce their iPhone 4 release date and the plan accompanying it. Who has the better price and plan? We’ll see on 24th yea!

The latest email from Digi sent today reveal that Digi will launch iPhone 4 next week. The exact date is still unknown but Digi promise to release more update in coming days. This update brought an end to the endless speculation about when iPhone will finally hit our shores. But do you think it’s already late?
It took almost 2 months for the iPhone 4 launch to materialize since pre-registration opened in July. I always wondering why it took so long for iPhone and iPad to be launch here, unlike other Apple devices such as Macbook or iPod. During this period, grey importer has brought iPhone 4 from countries such as Singapore and Hong Kong with very competitive price. This will cannibalizing iPhone 4 sales from both carriers, Digi and Maxis in the long run.
But well, there is still demand for iPhone 4 from users who prefer the subsidized phone with contract. And Maxis, I believe they will not stay silent upon seeing this update from Digi. How soon they will react is still to be seen, but I strongly believe they will launch iPhone 4 next week as well. Suddenly iPhone 4 become center of attention once again. In another sign that impending iPhone 4 is nearer, Digi has started offering iPhone 3GS/3G without contract. But there is catch. You must Digi’s existing postpaid customer, and must subscribe to Digi’s data iDiGi Internet Unlimited 3GB plan (RM68/permonth) . You can purchase the iPhone with price as above, well, it still quite expensive. Bu to sweeten the deal, there is rebates for the data service worth RM25 per month for 24 months, which bring the total to RM600. So in case you subscribed the plan for 24 months , you’re actually paying RM600 less for your iPhone. So is it worth? Hit the source link below for more info.

iPhone 4 will be available in another 18 more countries by the end of July, and we all know that Malaysia is not one of them. More countries will be added later but there is no confirmation which countries and when it is going to be. So when Digi and Maxis start put up iPhone 4 pre-registration page on their website, that’s the clearest sign ever that they iPhone 4 will hit our shores soon, probably by end if August. Apple strict style won’t let their partners to speculate the rumors, unless something has confirm black and white, just like in this case. Digi appears to be the first to have the registration page went live this evening, followed by Maxis soon afterward. It’s close ‘war’ of marketing, but I do not expect the price war ahead. Price? Unfortunately there is none, so stay tune.
