Multiflow, Another Alternative Multitasking For iPhone & iPad

Way before iOS 4 with multitasking is released, Proswitcher, an application in Cydia that enabled multitasking in iOS has been around quite a while, serving the community with that needs. Now we have multitasking in iOS 4, but that doesn’t stop the creativity of coders out there to come up with alternatives, and probably better.

Multifl0w , an application in Cydia is another implementation of multitasking in iOS, using Backgrounder as the app engine. iOS 4 multitasking might looks bored to some, which display only app icon currently running on background. Multifl0w on the other hand has addded little twist on it’s implementation of multitasking which looks pretty interesting. It display the application snapshot; the state of the app when you minimize them. The application snapshot image is huge as well and can be dragged upside down.

But there is trade off of this nice pretty app. It drain your battery pretty fast. And jailbreaking your iPhone is mandatory to have this app installed, from Cydia. It’s not free, you have to fork out $4.99 to have this nice looking multitasking in your iPhone, as well as iPad

How Much Data FaceTime Consume Over 3G Connection?

So with My3g app on jailbroken iPhone 4, FaceTime can be use over 3G connection, rather than just Wifi as what Apple preset. Wondering how much data consumed by FaceTime over 3G connection? Folk at 9to5mac has done some testing, and here is what they figure out. They have run FaceTime test on 3G connection for 5 minutes, and roughly it is using 3MB perminute. Personally I think that’s reasonable, but unless you have unlimited data package, you might want to use FaceTime over Wifi instead if you’re heavy user. So anyone here have tested it and how much data it use?

ProSwitcher Enable Multitasking in Iphone

You now have another reason to jailbreak your iPhone to have one of iPhone’s most wanted feature .. none other than multitasking. Available only in Cydia, one app called ProSwitcher can turn your iPhone to be a multitasking device in a blink of seconds.. free of charge.

Running behind ProSwitcher is another app called Backgrounder which is actually the main engine. Backgrounder has its own setting that you can modify although you can leave the default setting intact. It lest you specify which apps to be enabled/disabled from being run on the background, toggle backgrounding via Home or power button and etc.

Some say it is Palm WebOS style (though I never use WebOS before). To enable app to keep running in background, press home (the default control button) for few seconds, until ‘Backgrounding Enabled’ message appear on your phone screen.

To toggle between apps running in background, click on the ProSwitcher icon (in order to run it) which displays all apps in that state. Browse and just tap any application that you want to bring to the foreground. There are small dots at the bottom of the screen to indicate how many apps are currently running in background.

I have it run for couple of days, and it simply turn the iPhone to be more productive tool. A must have app!
