Pre-Register Blackberry Torch 98000 at Maxis, Celcom or Digi

Pre-register, pre-book and etc; yeah you should familiar with the landscape of smartphone industry nowadays. Before the era of iPhone, Android or Blackberry, you can’t hardly found such things. No pre-register or whatsoever, just get the phone when it arrive!

So same goes for Blackberry Torch 9800 which we know is shipped with the new OS in Blackberry 6. All 3 major telco that carry Blackberry devices in Malaysia has opened pre-registration for it. No price yet available, but you can expect each telco will going to use their existing Blackberry plan. Except Digi, Celcom and Maxis are offering freebies to attract registration but limited to first few hundred customer only . You can pre-register at all telcos without  obligation to purchase it. Celcom and Maxis has started accepting Blackberry Curve 3G 9300 pre-order (my post Celcom and Maxis) since last week. From the information available from them, the smartphone will only available here in September. The press release from RIM confirms that, but again we’re still without the exact release date.

Maxis Open Blackberry Torch and Curve 3G Pre registration

A day after Celcom start Blackberry Curve 3G or Curve 9300 pre-order, the ball is on Maxis and Digi to follow suit. And Maxis just went a step ahead by starting pre-registration for Curve 3G as well as the hottest (and the newest) Blackberry smartphone, Blackberry torch 9800.

Blackberry Torch 9800 is the only Blackberry smartphone running on Blackberry 6 and equipped with QWERTY keyboard and touch screen. This is the most anticipated Blackberry smartphone this year with over 150k sales in US and Canada alone. Not date given when the smartphone will hit Maxis store.

BlackBerry Torch 9800 Available Today

Only if you live in the US, you can get Blackberry Torch 9800 from AT&T beginning today.  Blackberry Torch 9800 is the first Blackberry smartphone with Blackberry 6, the new Blackberry OS that undergone major makeover internally and externally. When it will available here in Malaysia, is another question, but I know that at least one local telco has started testing Blackberry Torch 9800 and another Blackberry smartphone running on Blackberry 6 since Blackberry Torch released. The testing will usually run for couple of months to complete, so till then just wait and see.

Not every phone out there receive the same treat, unless for high profile phone like this. The dismantling process reveal parts used in Blackberry Torch especially the slider mechanism. Well, not expecting you to know what each part is, but at least you have little idea what’s inside your next phone, in case this is phone that you’re dreaming off.
