Celcom step up the game of smart phone rivalry, for its incoming Blackberry Storm release, by putting up the comparison table between Storm and product-I, which clearly aimed to Maxis’s iPhone, on features that iPhone 2.2 OS lacking with now.
Well, for common user, they might not outdated with the latest technology. But I guess this ads will backfired soon, as some of the comparison listed such as MMS, tethering (use mobile phone as modem) and document editor (if they means copy and paste) is going to be available soon. Other function such as video recording can be achieved using iPhone app.
And please keep in mind that Maxis’s iPhone is legally unlocked and can be updated anytime, when iPhone 3.0 OS released this summer.
I’m still waiting how much this device going tobe.

Last week, we have seen how Maxis and iPhone dominating the local telcos news with the official release of iPhone to the local market. Not to be outdone with its rival, Celcom beginning this weekend, started to air, TV commercial promoting unknown device due to be unveiled April. You can guess what it is based on the size.
It is none other than iPhone rival…. Blackberry Storm!! Well, my early guess appears to be true.
Blackberry Storm is the first touch screen phone from RIM, compete directly with Apple iPhone on the smartphone segment. It manage to grab quite an attention when it was released last year, so it is interesting how it will compete here in the local market.
No detail about the device price as well as the data plan or call plan available on the Celcom’s Storm webpage. It is unknown if it will use existing plan or Celcom will introduce new plans just like Maxis approach with iPhone.
Interested user can prebook now, where there are free gift worth RM638 up for grab. Head to Celcom’s Blackberry Storm page for more information.
Upon reading emails forwarded by friend of mine few days ago, I notice 1 ‘cool’ signature…
Sent via Blackberry STORM 9530 @ Celcom. It is in your hands
Although this signature could be fake, but the fact that this was used by someone from Celcom’s management level, raise my curiosity to dig it deeper.
To confirm the truthfulness of this info, I’ve sent an email back to the person to get any clarification, but yet to receive any respond until now.
Anybody from Celcom could confirm this?
