All Blackberry Curve and Storm Smartphones Not Upgradeable To Blackberry 6

blackberry 6 logo 450x251 All Blackberry Curve and Storm Smartphones Not Upgradeable To Blackberry 6

I know many will regret buying Blackberry smartphone now, except for model such as Bold 9700 and Bold 9650. The reason is very obvious, all Blackberry model except stated below is totally not compatible with Blackberry 6, the latest OS unveiled today. Yes, not even part of it. Zero! I for one, asking only for the new browser that support webkit for my Blackberry 8520, yes that’s one, but I know now that is impossible.

Probably, it is time to say good bye. Well, I know Storm 2 users even more frustrated because their phone is more expensive and newer.. The incompatibility is due to that, all these devices are having lower than 512 RAM, which I think is not really helpful for us to understand what’s the issue is. At least, give us part of the upgrade, if not all, at least we’re not feeling sidelined by RIM!
Compatibility with Existing BlackBerry Smartphones
BlackBerry 6 will debut on the new BlackBerry® Torch™ smartphone (announced today) available from AT&T on August 12 and it is also designed to run on select BlackBerry smartphones already in market. Subject to carrier certifications in the months ahead, the new OS is expected to be available for the BlackBerry® Bold™ 9700, BlackBerry® Bold™ 9650 and BlackBerry® Pearl™ 3G, as well as future BlackBerry smartphones.”

Blackberry Slider Is Now The Next Blackberry Bold?

BBleaks did it again. After posting series of Blackberry Slider images couple of days ago, BBleaks has posted another series of Blackberry Slider images, which is much clearer now.

And now instead of Blackberry Storm that they thought this model going to be in future, another opinion suggest that, this might be the next Blackberry Bold model instead. Backing up that opinion is, the keyboard design that Blackberry Slider had, which is the ‘signature’ of Blackberry Bold.

Well, but I’m still sticking to my belief that this is the next Blackberry Storm for the reason that I’m not too sure. Probably, my interest in touch screen had my belief little bit biased. Or because I think that Blackberry should have device with both touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard to better compete in smart phone market. But that’s just my one cent.

Leave that alone at the moment, whatever this model going to be, I wish to see Blackberry Slider to have AMOLED capacitive touch screen (asking too much isn’t it) and decent keyboard as Blackberry used to be. BBleaks, good job!

Blackberry Slider First Images Leaked

BBleaks has posted 2 images of  Blackberry Slider which might be the next generation of Blackberry Storm 3. If this is real, the addition of keyboard to the next gen of storm series is going to be a huge attraction to users who want to have QWERTY keyboard and touch screen on the same time

This image show how the keyboard sliding out from the device, just like Palm Pre.

And this is Touch Screen Blackberry Slider that RIM has applied for patents earlier. As opposed to the images, the keyboard is flip sideway.  Of the 2 keyboard sliding type, I prefer the second image most, as it is easy to hold it using 1 hand if I want to use the keyboard.

Hopes to see this device hits the street soon!
