A day after Celcom start Blackberry Curve 3G or Curve 9300 pre-order, the ball is on Maxis and Digi to follow suit. And Maxis just went a step ahead by starting pre-registration for Curve 3G as well as the hottest (and the newest) Blackberry smartphone, Blackberry torch 9800.

Blackberry Torch 9800 is the only Blackberry smartphone running on Blackberry 6 and equipped with QWERTY keyboard and touch screen. This is the most anticipated Blackberry smartphone this year with over 150k sales in US and Canada alone. Not date given when the smartphone will hit Maxis store.

That’s great news considering that our neighbor in Indonesia will receive this smartphone on the time as well. The article also confirmed that Blackberry Curve 3G will receive upgrade to Blackberry 6 in coming months. With this smartphone, it looks like Blackberry have candidate winner for entry level smartphone category.

In action that could be seen to give Blackberry’s entry level smartphone is on par with it’s much expensive lineup , Blackberry Curve series is now  3G. It is the next generation of Blackberry Curve but somehow I wish the 3G is available from the beginning, at least as optional to those who want speedier data connection. By default the smartphone is shipped with Blackberry 5.0 but is said to be Blackberry 6 ready.  So with 3G, Blackberry 6 and affordable price, it looks like it gonna be again a huge hit considering how successful the first version of Blackberry Curve 8520 and Curve 8530. I’m sure you will curious when it will hit our shores, so FYI, it just released in Canada and soon to the US, it may took months before you can get it here.
