AFAIK, this is perhaps the most luxury price ever offered to use this particular mobile OS. No wonder the BMW X6 is the price, as the mobile OS that you need to use if you dream of this car is the latest Blackberry OS, also with 6, Blackberry 6. The only things you need to do to participate in this contest is to buy and use any Blackberry smartphone running on Blackberry 6, such as Torch, Curve 3G and Bold 9780 from the authorized reseller which are Brighstar, Celcom, Digi and Maxis. Buying smartphone from grey market doesn’t qualify you to this contest. No T&C or FAQ available on the contest page, so the only way to know about it, is buy it. Without pre-register or even little hype, Blackberry Bold 9780 finally available from Maxis, at last. Do no expect special introductory price or whatsoever. Both postpaid and prepaid package available from RM2259 and 2079. The price includes 12 month of BIS advance plan worth RM360 for pospaid ( actual BIS fee is RM1440 = 120 x 12 month), and 6 months of BIS plan (not stated which one) for prepaid worth M180.
Postpaid package especially is very attractive as the price of the Blackberry Bold 9780 alone is only RM819, and the huge bulk of what you pay( RM2259) is for 1 year BIS subscription fee that you pay in advance, equal to RM1440. Pretty good deal.
It is not only Celcom’s postpaid users that could enjoy Blackberry Bold 9780, but now Celcom Xpax users has the same privilege as well. Blackberry Bold 9780 is offered at RM1888, and of course without contract. If you notice, Celcom Exec plan doesn’t offer this phone without contract, so any Celcom Exec user who’re not keen on contract can purchase this phone via Xpax channel.
While Blackberry Bold 9780 comes with 3G connection, unfortunately Xpax Blackberry users won’t be able to get this speed, as the prepaid Blackberry only support 384khps speed, or EDGE. So it is not really worthy buys, in my opinion.

Right after Celcom, Digi is the second telco to begin offering Blackberry Bold 9780 from tomorrow. And for tomorrow only, Digi is offering the smartphone at special price RM799, which open to the first 500 customers who sign up. The special price is for 24 months contract, Rm300 discount from the normal price RM1099. More information is available at the source link below. Fancy of Blackberry smartphone with Blackberry 6 OS? Apart from Blackberry Torch 9800, Blackbery Bold 9780 which was released few weeks ago is another device shipped with Blackberry 6. As you wish, the smartphone is now available at Celcom’s Blackberry Event beginning yesterday. And by 17th November, it should available at Celcom Bluecube store nationwide.
Blackberry Bold 9780 is essentially the enhanced version of Blackberry Bold 9700, with double amount of RAM to 512MB now, but retain all the looks and feel of the current Blackberry Bold. The additional RAM is allocated for to boast it’s performance when it run on newest Blackberry OS, Blackberry 6.
It’s RRP is RM1,888, but with 12 months contract, the smartphone is yours from as low as RM1188. Pricing with contract is available in my earlier post.
