You may notice the series of High Speed Broadband (HSBB) printed ads, published on major newspaper on the past few days. The ads carrying the message of what HSBB actually is, and how it can benefited citizens towards the new Economy Model  currently promoted by federal government.

Out of fancy ads, there is one thing that caught my attention, which stating that HSBB will complement Streamyx, instead of replacing it as most of you expected including me . I’m sure most of you  will think that HSBB will eventually replacing Streamyx, but that’s appear not quite true at this moment.

To get the better understanding about this matter, there are 2 type of broadband category under National Broadband Initiative (NBI). One is HSBB as you familiar with, and Broadband for the General Population (BGPP) which many had just heard it for the first time today. The different between these 2 broadband service is, HSBB will cater for high economic impact areas such as Klang Valley while Broadband for the General Population (BGPP) is for areas. And for Streamyx, it is one of BGPP which includes 3G, HSPA, Wimax and fixed line
