The ‘honeymoon’ period for Windows 7 is almost over with the rising number of virus/malware that targeting that OS. The latest is, Sophos has just issued warning about malware that targeting Windows 7 computers to download fake antivirus software.
The malware will try to fool you with pop up dialog box stating that your computer has many serious threats. Clicking on the ‘Remove all Threats immediately’ message will pop out another dialog box asking you to download the file called win_protection_update.exe. If you proceed, the malware that downloaded together with the exe file will asking for money to ‘disinfect’ the computer.
This unwanted incident can be simply avoided by ignoring such messages and avoiding visiting high risk websites such as porn, torrent and etc.

I don’t know if there is other Antivirus program in Bahasa Melayu (Malay). It is human nature, that you’ll be glad of having something that you can relate to your root such as language in this case. Personally, I’m pleased when AVG introduce AVG anti virus with Malay language as one of the language option. This is rare 
You know, I have lot of friends that does not speak or understand English (except for few words). Being a ‘kampung boy’ as well and being a computer seller before, I know how inconvenient it would be using something that you don’t even understand. So this is such a ‘bonus’ to the users under this category.
OK, enough the rambling for now. To download it, head to AVG product page.There are free and paid version available to suit your needs. Once installation started, you’ll be greeted by message in Malay as well. Nice huh??
But to my disappointment, the installation process failed to continue on the stage to download the whole installation file. Dunno why.. Let’s try it later.

I had written about how to synchronize files between more than 1 computers few days back using Live Sync. Apparently, the synchronizing process will bring the virus as well, which is something unexpected. I’m expecting Live Sync to be able to scan and remove any threat such as bot or virus before it attacks the whole sync network .
So be careful and ensure the computers you’re sync to, has anti virus or anti spyware software run all the time as well.
