If you think Google Adsense Blog is only for Adsense related update, you’re probably wrong, starting today. For some unknown reason, Google News post today appear on Google Adsense blog.
What a confusing!! Frankly speaking, I can’t see how Google News related to Google Adsense. Unless Google would like to announce, that Adsense publishers can start monetizing Google News widget installed on their blog, I don’t see any relevancy of this post over there.
But one thing for sure, that Google Adsense has that Google News blog does not. .. huge visitors and subscribers.
While Google Adsense blog has 24,261 plus RSS subscribers, plus other visitors who might visit the blog directly, Google News Blog merely has 4035 RSS readers and probably less visitors considering it is relatively new service . So now, do you know what that means ?
After all, it is Google.
Adsense team bring interactive to adsense ads with the introduction of new new ad type – Expandable Ads. It is the type of ad that will expanding, whenever there is interaction from site visitors. Among possibly rich content available on this ad, are such as videos, clips and etc.
If you familiar with Vibrant Media’s intellitext (althought it is in-text advertising), you can imagine similar interactive medias being streamed right inside the ads to the interesed visitors.
Back to the the ad, so do you think your site will potentially displaying this ad type? All publishers regardless the regions are eligible, provided Adsense ads codes are installed directly in your site page, and you have enable image ads. Unless you’re Adsense publisher in Europe, this is not going to effect you.
Adsense team today, annouce that Adsense publisher live in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain now have option to view their AdSense earning reports in Euros. With this enhancement, that means, publisher will be paid in Euros as well.
As stated on the blog post, this is useful for publishers who wanted to avoid being exposed on the curency exchange fluctuation.
There are additional terms and conditions that they have to agree before joining this.
- The party that publishers are contracting with changes from Google Inc. to Google Ireland Limited.
- Publishers are responsible for paying any local taxes in their jurisdiction. Google will only issue VAT refunds to publishers with an address in Ireland.
- The governing law changes from California law to either English or local law.
If similar enhancement introduced in your country, would you joining it?
Take MYR currency as an example here. With current exchange rate around USD1 = MYR3.72 and rumors spreading that it would reach MYR4 at the end of this year, another greedy side of me tell me not to join it (although I hope MYR become even more stabil later) .
It is an easy money that require almost no effort. Keep your adsense earning until you’re satisfied with the currency exchange, and just cash it out.
Just make sure to keep yourself updated with economy news, otherwise, you might end up being the loser.
I never fail reading Utusan everyday, but this is the first time I ever seen Adsense ads on their page. Or maybe not the first time..
Early last year, when they’re doing make over on the whole layout, I’d mentioned why they should diversifiy their income including advertising Adsense ads . Does anyone notice it earlier?
Google Adsense introduce a new feature that allow the Adsense publisher to choose font type that suit with their sites. The font type however still limited only to Arial, Times and Verdana.
This font setup can be done to both new or existing Adsense ads unit. Follow these steps to change it.
To set a custom font as the default for all your AdSense for content units :
- Sign in to your account.
- Visit your My Account tab.
- In the Ad Display Preference section, click edit.
- From the drop-down, choose your preferred font and save your changes.
The font settings will be reflected in all your AdSense for content ad units shortly.
This is the screen shot of where the font setup for all ads unit being done. Remember, once you modify this font type, all ads unit will use this font type.
To set custom fonts for individual ad units:
If you’re creating a new ad unit, you can choose a custom font while generating your ad code. Alternatively, you can update the font for an existing ad unit, by editing that ad unit through the Manage Ads page.
- Sign in to your account.
- Visit your AdSense Setup tab.
- If you’re making a new ad unit, choose AdSense for content as the product and continue to modify your settings. If you’re editing an existing ad unit, visit the Manage Ads page and choose your desired AdSense unit.
- In the Fonts drop-down, choose whichever font you would prefer.
- Make any other changes to your ad unit and save. If you’re creating a new ad unit, your font settings will be visible wherever you add the code for that unit. If you’re editing a saved ad unit, font changes will be visible on your pages in a few moments.
This screen shot can be found on the screen where you’re creating new ads unit, or modify existing ads unit via Manage Ads screen.
Just make sure you choose appropriate fonts for your sites.
