This is simpler technique that I found from Ted‘s blog when I want to prove above tool is accurate. Modify the URL below by replacing my twitter username with your twitter username. You’ll get the same outcome, with text in bold is your registration date.

Catch up TV in Malaysia

Have you ever watched or followed any tv drama series? Missed any one of the episodes? Don’t be upset, now there is this thing called catch up TV (in Malaysia), whereby you can go online and watch the missed episodes of yours. However, not all drama series are put up in the catch up TV programs, another possible solution, you can go to YouTube.

The catch up TV is actually based on which TV channel the drama series is on. Btw, it’s not just drama series, there are also other program series uploaded. In Malaysia, TV channels consist of RTM which includes TV1 and TV2, plus TV3, NTV7, 8TV, and TV9 which are under Media Prima Berhad. I only watch catch up TV from Media Prima Bhd’s channel, so this article is on one of the Media Prima’s channel, TV3. I tried to check out RTM’s video, but I was not able to watch the video.

Here comes the few steps to catch up on drama episodes that you’ve missed.

1. Go to the website. For this example, we’ll go to TV3 website.

2. First, in order for us to watch any catch up TV, we need to sign up as a member. This ID will then be applicable to other TV websites under Media Prima. Sign up and log in once done.

3. To view the catch up tv programmes available, just roll over the mouse to “CATCH UP TV”, and select your required programme.

4. Here comes your Part 1 of the Episode 14. There is an option to view it in full screen.

5. And to go to the next Part of the episode, roll over your mouse to the arrow near to “Next Episode/Bahagian Seterusnya” and you will see another 3 parts to come.

And that’s how the Catch Up TV works. I remembered there was once, when I was really attached to one Korean movie on 8tv that I watched it over and over again; Yu Hee The Witch, a really nice one I must tell you. However, they have taken it out from 8TV catch up programmes.

Stay connected to Twitter from Gmail with TwitterGadget

Unlike other client based Twitter client such as Thwirl, which is useful, but consume another memories and CPUs power, TwitterGadget lives on Gmail (and iGoogle or other app that support widget). You save more resources here.

I used to left Gmail opened in web browser when I’m online doing my work or in the office, so does everyone else, I believe. So that’s how TwitterGadget complement Gmail. You get your email and Tweeter in same place , same page. Installation is straight forward by following this link.

By default, TwitterGadget appear on Gmail’s sidebar like the screen on the right side. It is small, but just nice to show any tweet update. No worry, as it can be re-sized to full screen, by clicking the double arrow located on the widget title.

When you’re login for the first time, there is option if you would like to set Twitter to refresh in certain time interval, which is highly recommended. Otherwise, you won’t be able to see the tweet updates.

Twittergadget also is ‘shortcut-rich’ applications. You’ll find the shortcut provided are very useful to get maximum out of from this application. But remember, this shortcut can only be used in larger view screen.

If you’re not using Gmail or Google, don’t worry as you can still view it directly from the web browser by following this link. It has the same feeling and looks as the widget version.

WordPress.com blog get Twitter widget

Apparently, WordPress  has added Twitter widget on WordPress.com blog. You can have it as well by going to your widget section.

Unlike a lot of Twitter plugins for WordPress self-hosted blog, which sometime require authentication to allow you to tweet from the WordPress Dashboard as well as other features, Twitter Widget can merely showing the recent tweets on the sidebar.

You can show Twiter updates for more than one Twitter account, as what it need is only the Twitter ID. That means you can display others people tweet too!

So, this is how the widget looks like.

Youtube is very synonym with entertainment, humor although there are quite educational channels such as from National Geographic and as well as universities chanel. Now for more serious education videos series, Youtube has introduced YoutTubeEDU, containing videos from various educational field from over 100 universities and colleges all over the world.

Closer look indicate that YouTubeEDU itself is just collection of educational related Youtube channels. This channel produce videos not only for the lecturing sessions, but as well as their own activities, speaches, events and etc. So not all videos under that channel is useful for the non-member of that institutional.

As of now, there are over 20,000 videos on YouTube EDU and the number is growing. Still, there are lots of useful lecture sessions here from well known scholars, but there are also other interesting videos sush as iPhone Orchestra. 

Any parties interested to be the YoutubeEDU partners should fill up this form to join in.
