First Three Windows Phone 7 Series Smartphones

3 windows phone 7 series First Three Windows Phone 7 Series Smartphones

Microsoft paraded  3 Windows Phone 7 Series smartphones during MIX 10, which is obviously attracting the likes of Engadget. It is quite unexpexted since there are already 3 prototypes of Windows Phone 7 Series smartphone right now, as there is still 8-9 months to go before the phone is opened for sale.

Except Samsung (the most left), which is the hacked version of i8910 HD, the Asus and LG smartphone specifications remain unknown. Can someone persuade Microsoft to lend this phone please?

Cheapest Android Phone In The Market? Anyone?

imobile 6010 Cheapest Android Phone In The Market? Anyone?

We know that HTC Tattoo is the most affordable Android smartphone available here in Malaysia with its retail price around RM1199 (could be cheaper out there).  What we’re (myself especially) not aware is that, there is almost unknown but cheaper Android smartphone available in out market. I’m talking about new genuine phone, not HTC looks alike, or Motorola looks alike Android smartphone made in China.

First discovered by Mytechnews blog, the smart phone known as I-Mobile 6010  is made by Samart aka i-Mobile, a Thailand based company. The phone is priced at RM868, just a fraction of HTC Magic or Hero price.

Apart from basic phone features, the phone is equipped with touch screen (unsure capacitive or resistive), unknown Android version, 3. 2 Megapixel camera, EDGE , 256MB flash + 128MB DDRAM and etc. And according to the spec page, the phone has been around since last year. Erm, quite an outdated phone already.

HTC HD2 Won’t Receive Upgrade to Windows Phone 7 Series

HTC HD2 Wont Receive Upgrade to Windows Phone 7 Series

After so many rumors floating around since the day HTC HD2 first met users last year, it is now finally confirmed that HTC HD2 will stay as it is now. Joe Belfiore has confirmed to Engadget that HTC HD2 will not receive any updates to Windows Phone 7 Series, at MIX 10 event yesterday. The reason being is that HTC HD2 specification is not compliant with Windows Phone 7 Series requirement.

It’s a pity that such a great device will end up being dumped just like that. It’s a bad day for HTC HD2 users as well, who put a high hope that this phone will receive upgrade in future, when they decide to switch to this phone before.  I can sense that the sale of HTC HD2 will be having free fall drop real soon after this news broke out.

To Microsoft, please re-consider!

One of the products launched during ‘Buy Malaysian Product’ opening campaign is a mobile phone, called Ad-Deen Q292, a product of Ad-Deen Technology Sdn Bhd.  Ad-Deen Q292 is Islamic themed mobile phone with Islamic related features such as Qibla, Prayer times and etc. Comes with 3 colours, the phone is retailed at RM399.

According to Ad-Deen’s Exceutive Director Megat Radzman Megat Khairuddin, the company targets to sell 40,000 units phone this year in Malaysia market alone. They have also received booking amounting 200,000 units each from Indonesia and Dubai. That’s quite an achievement for new mobile phone players like Ad-Deen Technology.

Very little is known about the mobile phone itself, neither Ad-Deen Technology nor the mobile phone has its own website. But I can guarantee you that no Snapdragon or AMOLED capacitive touch screen exist on this model.

One interesting fact is, one of Ad-Deen Technology directors sit in CSL Care management board, which tells us that both companies have some sort of relation to one another. CSL Care is the largest mobile phone OEM manufacturer in Malaysia, so there is a possibility that this phone is co-developed by both companies with CSL taking care of the manufacturing and retails while Ad-Deen is more towards its contents development.
