Dell open its first store in Malaysia@Mid Valley Mega Mall

From Dell’s latest advertisement in The Sun today, I stumbled upon the newly opened Dell’s store called Dell Direct Store at Mid Valle Mega Mall, one of the busiest shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur (KL).

At this point, it is unknown if this store is selling Dell’s computer directly to the public or just showcasing Dell’s product for testing and display. I’m trying googling around looking for more details about this info(including picture if any), with no luck.

Since Michael Dell making a u-turn and become the CEO of former world’s number 1 computer maker few months back (HP currently holds the crown), Michael Dell has changed the company direction from purely selling the computer direct to the customer, to be the company that has its own channels or known more as 3rd party vendor here.

In case you’re interested to view the store, please do so using address below. And don’t forget to shoot a picture or 2, and pass it to me to be included in this blog icon smile Dell open its first store in Malaysia@Mid Valley Mega Mall . I’m gonna drop by there soon, maybe when Christmas sale has started

There is an interesting development in Yahoo and Adobe collaboration, when they recently launch new ads program called Ads for Adobe PDF powered by Yahoo! beta program. This ads however only available for U.S. publishers of English-language content, initially.

Watching the demo provided on Adobe lab website, the PDF is not automatically filled in with ads, but it need to be uploaded to their system prior that

When the files uploaded to the net after that, it works like contextual ads, where the whole content will be scanned before relevant ads being displayed.

Google spending spree

 Google spending spree
Looks like Google is in free spending spree mood now. I came across this news that Google has acquired GrandCentral Communications, a Web phone service that lets users manage their existing phones and voice mailboxes over the Web as if they were a single account.
I have no idea or ever heard about GrandCentral Communication before. But I’m very sure this company has huge potential which Google can sense of

Well, I’m not going to talk about what GrandCentral Communication, but more of what Google is spending so far. This deal actually marks Google’s twelfth acquisition so far this year. Not bad for a deep pocket company like Google. We’re just pass the half year 2007 now, and Google I believe is eying several more potential companies to be acquired to support its exceptional growth and continuously widening their presence in internet and telecommunication worldwide

Since 2001, Google has acquired 44 companies including DoubleClick which haven’t yet finalized. Among the famous acquisition by Google includes YouTube, DoubleClick, Feedburner, Picase and Pyra Labs (blogger developer). By comparison, since 1986, Microsoft has acquired 78 companies

Why acquisition? With right planning along with the right companies, acquisition can shorten the product or service development life cycle for any incoming projects by fully utilizing technology or workforce from the company it acquired. This practice translated success and most importantly profit $$$ to both companies which was acquired and the acquiring company. However, an acquisition is not free from risk. There are many factors can influent the direction of acquisition as what stated by this document form UWSP and OCC which I found when I’m googling. icon smile Google spending spree
