After spending the last 2 days doing some promotion on my new blog, it is time again to again about what i did when i first ventured into internet marketing. I’m not sure if this topic will gain interest from reader, but do not underestimate the power of article directory.

Monetary benefit
This would be the first thing that come out on our mind before doing something. Though article directory is not promising you a lot of income, but with the right strategy, it’s worth to be try. I know that this is not a decent income for everyone, but i have never imagined that i will earn this much from internet before. I started to get serious in my project around 2 months ago (after I had completed probation period on my company)

I humbly list down potential income based on my experience

1. google adsense – USD 200-300
2. Kontera – USD 30
3. Referral product – USD 10-15
3. Auction ads – USD 10 (just started)

This would be an additional income around USD250-350 (RM 912.5 – RM1277.5 based on USD1 = RM3.65) per month. This is quite a lot for me who earn in RM. Enough to cover my mortgage and car loan. This few hundred increase in your monthly income will have few advantage to yourself. Who will give you this if you’re not the one who go for it. None.

The good thing about article directory is it run in semi-auto pilot mode. It doesn’t mean that you don’t have to check it everyday, but it needs less time and effort. This is completely different with blog where you have to post at least 1 article per day to make the visitor stick with your blog, do research on up-to-date and interesting topic

Knowledge is power
Other than monetary benefit, you will gain a lot of knowledge from there. When i first started in this internet marketing, i did read my own article directory quite often. It is like one stop center for everything which cover a lot of topics such as business, travel, blogging, dating, arts and many more. To make your reading experience better, you do have choices such as subscribing the article through RSS or newsletter. Talking about the content, not all article directory content are crap or created specifically for promoting product or website, it does have quality content which is worth to be read

Fully use your article directory
Having popular article directory means a lot of opportunity to you. You will get email request for link exchange (also spamming email) . Use this opportunity properly. Set you own web directory on top of your article directory. By using web directory, you can keep track of the link exchange as and at the same time let your visitors submit new websites or visit websites available in there. Set up your own blog there to put up announcements, promotions, tips for visitor.The more you interact with them, the more your visitors will spend their time inside

Maximize your content
Although this part is not really recommended, but it does have potential income for you. Using content from article directory on your own blog is 2 strategies in 1. First of all, you have steady source of content from your own article directory. Secondly, each article has it’s own ‘resource box’ which can’t be removed whereby one of the contents of ‘resource box’ is the link to your directory

I do hope with my poor English, my message can be interpreted by everyone. To end this part 2, i would like to summarize what i have mentioned above

1. Earn income in semi auto pilot mode
2. Gain knowledge from your own directory
3. Include add on function on your article directory such as web directory, blog and picture gallery
4. Maximize your content

Blogging has become 1 ways to earn money online. We can see that a lot of full time blogger earn thousands a month from the advertisement on their blog. Questions, can we become like them? Do we have a chance to earn at least 1/10 their income? Do we have courage to be successful like them?All questions above can be ‘no’ or ‘yes’. It depend on ourselves, how we see ourself in future, our current situation and etc.

But how about part time internet newbie like me? Do we have a same chance? The answer is yes. But writing blog is not easy. To find interesting content is not easy neither. Getting traffic to your site is more difficult. To get an audience to stick and read our blog is the worst part.

Other than blogging, what choices do you have? For me i have few choices that i implement and started generate income to me. The choices are article directory and web directory. I have few of them and I’m quite happy with the result so far. I’m not good in doing sales letter, getting opt in, click bank, eBay and creating e-book and etc. This need steep learning curve which I’m currently in learning process, but maybe i will started doing this afterwards.
