Andsense Ads Disabled? How To Get It Back

So your website no longer showing Adsense ads? I have read a lot about it before, but never cross my mind, that I will one day experience it as well.
I have this issue with adsense couple of weeks ago when the adsense ads was disabled in this blog. It started when Google issue a warning that I have violated their policy with regard the ads placement in that particular stage. The ads placement has been there quite a while, but the warning only comes when the earning are extraordinarily high for few days (high earning sometime is not a good thing). I review the ads placement, reading back the T&C, but to cut the story short, it didn’t please Google and the ads were totally gone in the next few days.
Panic? Of course I’m. But please calm down after a moment.
1. So the first thing that I did is re-read following things multiple times. Yeah, especially if English is not your mother tongue, you may miss or misunderstood something there. Usually the warning hint the area that you’re violating, but do no take that as the final word, as you may violate other areas as well. So as I said, read and understand it, even for multiple. You have nothing to lose here, but you’ll lost more if you failed doing so.
- program policies (highly suggested in the warning message).
- Term of use
2. The warning issued to me is related to ads placement. I’m not going to go in detail here, but believe me, I think what I was right, and Google is wrong. But at the end of the day I was wrong, and Google is right, and so it’s end up what I’m fear most, the ads are disappeared. If you’re unsure what is not right, clear or remove the ads that you have doubt on it, or you think it is 50-50 right. Google has no tolerence with that. So here are couple of thing that you can do.
- Reduce the number of ads in that page, although it still within the number allowed in program policy. I retain the number of ads unit, but I reduce the number of Adsense for seach, and link ads.
- Use “sponsored links” or “advertisements” to label ads - Contrary to 5-6 years ago when Adsense is relatively new, it has matured and even without the label, visitors still knows which one is ads and which is not.
- Modify the placement of the ads. Eg If it is too close to your header or subjects, make more space with it. Or move your ads placement to be on top of the header and etc.
3. After you have absolutely satisfied with the changes, and you have confidence that your website is now fully compliance with Adsense rules, appeal through this Invalid Activity Appeal form. Patient is absolutely the key here. Please take your time filling up this form, as this is what will determine if you’ll get back the ads. Be honest but keep an eye on the detail.
Google will reply in couple of days, but there is no exact days how soon they will. It too me 5 days for them to reply, but I even read that they reply in 2-3 weeks. Congratulation is they lift the ban, but if you failed, try again.
The lesson that I learn here is that, please take the warning from Google seriously. Don’t take it for granted. And do the right thing at the first time, not when the punishment has already taken place.
As I said earlier, extraordinary earning will sometime trigger something unexpected action from Google when they become suspicious of the activity on your website. Perhaps, it is best that you become proactive, by contacting Google if you suspicious with the income or click that you receive on any particular day. Being proactive give impression to Google, that you’re monitoring your website diligently although that doesn’t mean they will trust whatever you report to them.
