It’s day 3 today since I bought Nokia N8 and haven’t coming up with the reviews
, blame my 3 straight weeks training! So Nokia N8, what am I thinking about this phone. I’ll save that thought later, but today I did some test on Nokia N8 HDMI. The hardware in Nokia N8 such as HDMI, 12 megapixel camera, HD quality video recording are undoubtedly some of it’s biggest selling point. Although I can’t say it’s the best in the market, but the combination of these feature with N8 design and the price is what really persuade my to dig deep to my pocket.
Pictures worth thousand words, and so does video, right? I’m no audio video expert, but I try my best to test the HDMI in Nokia N8 and capture that moment in these videos with 3GS, so do expect low video quality plus other noise (Luqman) as well as my shaking hands.
First, I simply demoed how the N8 screens looks like in LCD TV – brand Philips to be specific, not Full HD, but only HD ready. So the best way or easiest is to show some photos already available in the phone. As you can see, the photos displayed in the LCD Tv is sharp, though there is still very thin lines if you looks it closer (not visible on the video). The color composition is close albeit with little difference. This is much better than, for instance my point-to-shot camera, which show blurry, distortion photos. I should show you how the N8 menu looks like in the LCD TV as well, which is pretty good in my opinion.
Second demo is games, what else if not the lite version of Need For Speed – One of my favorite games in iOS. So being able to play this games in big screen is a bonus for non seasoned gamer like me. Don’t expect the console-like quality games here. The graphic is not rendered as good as in the N8 itself, but the quality is acceptable to my standard. You can see the not so smooth pixels on the LCD Tv which not visible on N8 screen.
On another games which need no introduction, Angry Birds (not shown in this video) rendered better in the LCD TV as it is not really graphic extensive game. It looks close to what is displayed on the N8 screen.
And finally, Video playback – It is Thor thriller that available in the N8. I would say it is very very nice, the video displayed perfectly in the LCD TV.
That’s all my short HDMI review in Nokia N8, till then for the next parts.
