MPH is having e-reader fair at it’s Midvalley bookstore from 27th August until 19th September. There are couple of e-readers in store such iRiver Story (RM1099), BenQ nReaderK60 (Rm1199), Hanlin eReader v60 (899),  Hanlin eReader V5 (RM1099) and Oasis 6″ E-Ink (RM649). Just for the sake of comparison, Amazon’s Kindle and Barnes and Nobles’ Nook price starting from $139(RM439) and $149 (RM464) each respectively.

E-reader is relatively new device category here. It doesn’t picking up the stem as much as tablet or smartphone that easily adopted by the mass. Beside it’s single function only for reading purpose, it’s also partly because the renowned publisher such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble doesn’t open their online bookstore for us. Even Apple’s iBookstore is only accepting US iTune account holder in order to purchase ebook.

MPHonline’s effort to spearhead reading book from electronic device like e-reader should be praised. For beginning, there are 99 tittles available for download from their website and promise over 100,000 more tittles will available in future. But apart from these titles which is free, bestseller’s title and recent title should be offered as well.
