The cheapest slate/tablet currently available in the market are Joojoo and iPad’s lowest spec (8Gb, Wifi version) which each retailed at$499 (RM1597). Jojoo and iPads which each run on proprietary browser based on and iPhone OS respectively, however doesn’t comes with full computer functionality, a bit let down to people who’re looking for tablet which such functionality.
HP Slate, one of the earliest announced tablet that run on Windows 7 OS, fit that requirement, and it’s price and released date is almost confirmed as well (not official though) . If €400 (RM1787) is to be believed, it still slightly higher than JooJoo and iPad, but that’s comes with more features than it’s rival. I know you’re expecting the price to be more or less of netbook, right?
HP Slate is expected to be released by June and available in Europe before September. It’s availability in this region (particularly in Malaysia) is still unknown, so it’s best to wait until June for more insight.

The rumors about Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) 3.0 has been around since last month. Apparently, it doesn’t take long for the rumor to turn to reality, where it is finally confirmed that BIS 3.0 will be first rolled out at North Americas at 28th March. For your info, BIS 3.0′s most anticipated enhancement is Gmail 2 way syncing from Blackberry device and Gmail itself.
It just a matter of time for BIS on other parts of the world will get upgraded. I hope it doesn’t take that long.
