You may notice the series of High Speed Broadband (HSBB) printed ads, published on major newspaper on the past few days. The ads carrying the message of what HSBB actually is, and how it can benefited citizens towards the new Economy Model currently promoted by federal government.
Out of fancy ads, there is one thing that caught my attention, which stating that HSBB will complement Streamyx, instead of replacing it as most of you expected including me . I’m sure most of you will think that HSBB will eventually replacing Streamyx, but that’s appear not quite true at this moment.
To get the better understanding about this matter, there are 2 type of broadband category under National Broadband Initiative (NBI). One is HSBB as you familiar with, and Broadband for the General Population (BGPP) which many had just heard it for the first time today. The different between these 2 broadband service is, HSBB will cater for high economic impact areas such as Klang Valley while Broadband for the General Population (BGPP) is for areas. And for Streamyx, it is one of BGPP which includes 3G, HSPA, Wimax and fixed line
So, what do you think?

The ‘honeymoon’ period for Windows 7 is almost over with the rising number of virus/malware that targeting that OS. The latest is, Sophos has just issued warning about malware that targeting Windows 7 computers to download fake antivirus software.
The malware will try to fool you with pop up dialog box stating that your computer has many serious threats. Clicking on the ‘Remove all Threats immediately’ message will pop out another dialog box asking you to download the file called win_protection_update.exe. If you proceed, the malware that downloaded together with the exe file will asking for money to ‘disinfect’ the computer.
This unwanted incident can be simply avoided by ignoring such messages and avoiding visiting high risk websites such as porn, torrent and etc.

Good news to all Blackberry user in Malaysia, that Blackberry App World is now officially opened to us. Yes, that’s true, and I know that some of you have been waiting this to materialize for years. Because there is no official communication on RIM blog just yet about this matter, and Malaysia is still not listed in the list of country that have access to App World, to confirm that this is indeed true, I have done 2 things.
First, I search App World from Blackberry App World (yes I have it as I install it using the workaround), and it is now visible, when it is not before. I manage to upgrade App World from version 1.1.0.17 to 1.1.0.33. Second, I search App World from App World download page, and found that it’s no longer prevent me from downloading it, unlike before where it will prompt message stating that I’m not from the country that can use this app.
So what are you waiting before. Download and enjoy!
Update : Include The EULA screen shot for Malaysia

If you think your phone is meant for communication, entertainment or source of information only, you’re not 100% accurate just yet. Do you know that your phone can be used as law enforcement tool as well? Really? Sounds good! Yes, as long as your phone is equipped with camera, you can anytime become one of ‘traffic officer’ to help make our road safer.
This is how it works. Beginning last month, JPJ has openly called public to use their camera/camera phone to snap the photo of traffic offender anywhere in Malaysia. The traffic offender photos then can be sent to email address aduantrafik@jpj.gov.my and any action will be taken accordingly by them.
How will this help motorist to follow the traffic rules? The objective of this program is to create an awareness that, everyone is responsible of patrolling our road, not only police or JPJ officers. By then, motorists will keep this in mind that other motorists around them is watching them as well, or in other word, they can indirectly summon you if you break the rules. Do you think you would dare to cross the red traffic light if a policeman is riding beside you? The same concept applied here, everyone is a ‘policemen’ or ‘JPJ officer’ when they’re on the road.
pst – JPJ’s website is now become more social, you can tweet and share on FB of their web page.
via – the article mistakenly reads email address as website, erm where the heck is the editor?
