Having growing kid is one of the best things every parents ever had. Their curiosity toward something new is sometime beyond the control and covers everything they ever see. That’s include their interest toward technology and particularly internet. The internet which suppose to be a sea of information does have many things that suppose not to be seen by them at that age.
Youtube as one of the biggest entertainment and learning source in internet, has taken a step forward in protecting this young generation. The ‘Safety Mode’ unveiled by them is very useful to limit the videos that this kids can watch.
Turning on this function will block certain videos from being watched as well as exclude it from Youtube search function. ‘Safety Mode’ works with or without signing into your Youtube account. But signing into Youtube account give you further advantage as the Safety Mode will be locked from being turned off.
Youtube action is very much applauded, but this is just temporary solution. As the kids grows and become even clever, they will figure out how to overcome this ‘Safety Mode’.
Activating this function is very simple as demonstrated in video below.
Some good news for Windows Mobile fan out there; MyXpax tweets yesterday that Celcom is going to sell HTC HD2 later this month. Considering now everyone are in festive mode, most likely it will happen after the long holiday, but just not sure when.
It’s been almost 3 month since the HTC HD2 official release in Malaysia, and yet no carrier offering this phone until this announcement. Well, it’s better late than never, right?
HTC HD2 is considered as the HTC’s s flagship smartphone in Windows Mobile segment with high price tag, around RM2800 when it’s first launched. HTC Hd2 also is one of best and highly regarded Windows Mobile phone out there as well.
This phone run on Windows Mobile 6.5, and the first Windows Mobile smartphone with capacitive touchscreen with multi touch feature. There are rumors circulating around before that, this is the only Windows Mobile smartphone that met the specification to run Windows Mobile 7, due to announcement next week at MWC 2010.
Powering the phone is Snapdragon 1GHz chip, one of the fastest processor at this moment for portable device.
I was expecting some cut on the iPhone price, but apparently it is just the package as the original one. But you do get free talk time, sms and data for 1 month in conjunction of Chinesse New Year, if you sign up to any iPhone plan above from 5 to 28th February.
I still think iPhone package from Maxis is overly priced device, with high voice and data plan. More about the promo here.
Safari is currently the only web browser available for iPhone. But that is going to change very soon when Opera Mini for iPhone from Opera will be unveiled during World Mobile Congress (MWC) 2010.
Opera Mini will be equipped with features that focused on performance, as stated in press release “Opera Mini is renowned for its compression technology, which results in significantly faster Web-page loading and reduces data surcharges. With favorite desktop features in its arsenal, such as tabs, Speed Dial and the password manager, Opera Mini is designed with usability in mind“.
At a glance, Opera Mini will have the address bar and search box on the header. The main body will shows what believed as recently browsed sites or bookmarked sites. The footer will feature back and forward button, refresh, new windows and setting page. No estimated date when Opera Mini will available in App Store, so stay tune for the announcement next week.
