How to Invoke and Use Shortcuts in Office 2010

In Office 2010, there are a lot of shortcuts to assist you execute any function or move from one menu to another. This is going to be very handy in case if you’re without a mouse or you’re on the go and need to use Office to get work done. Here is the basic of shortcuts in Office 2010.

Press ‘Alt’ key to display the shortcuts. Press ‘Alt‘ key again if you want to hide it. Just to show you how to move to other tabs,  for instance, you’re currently at ‘Mailing’ tab, so to move to ‘Home’ tab, press ‘H’ key. There you go!

Now you’re at Home screen. By default, what you see in the screen shot below is the functional (my own term) shortcut which is used to execute any functions. For instance, to bold the font, press ‘B‘ key and so on.

Meanwhile, above screen shot is navigational (my own term) shortcut, which will be used to move from one tab to another.

From functional shortcut, press ‘ESC’ key to switch to navigational shortcut. Functional shortcut is now invisible, what you see now are navigational shortcuts as shown in the screen shot below. Notice the difference?

Pressing ALT or ESC key or click your mouse button anywhere in the Office document will hide the shortcut. Easy right??

Flymas.mobi is a mobile optimized website created by MAS to facilitate accessing, booking and providing flight related inquiries to its customer via mobile phones. With the increasing number of users accessing websites through mobile phone, and the numerous smart phones available on the market, this is one step forward by Mas to tap the market from these users.

Just type Flymas.mobi to access the website from your mobile phone or computer’s web browser. The homepage is clean with each menu arranged neatly downward. I have tested running Flymas.mobi in iPhone and Blackberry web browser which produces consistent looks. There is a tiny link at the bottom left of the screen that allows you to choose for language.

You can do almost everything that you can from MAS main web page with Flymas.mobi such as booking flights, check in, check flight status and etc. Booking the ticket of your choice for instance, only needs 5 steps to be completed. But please be aware that rebook or change flight dates service is not available via Flymas.mobi.

Only credit card is accepted as the payment method, which is pretty much a standard thing nowadays. Booking confirmation,  ticket, receipt (itinerary) will be sent via sms and email. Before you try on the service, I strongly advice you to read the FAQ and Privacy page.

How to Write and Publish Blog Post from Office 2010

One of the exciting features offered in Office 2010 is the ability to write blog post and then publish it directly to your blog. This is extremely helpful if you’re not alway connected to internet and want to publish the blog post whenever internet connection available even in  a brief. Here is how you can do it.

1. To create a new blog post, go to File >> New >> Blog Post

2. If that is the first time you’re trying to create a new blog post, it will prompt you whether you want to register it now or later

3. If you choose to register now,the next step would be choosing the blog type.

4. Enter the blog URL as well as user name and password.

5. Here is the main post editor page where you’ll draft your post. Here you can retrieve article , create new category and etc.

Anytime you’re ready to publish the post, hit the publish button. Interestingly, you can publish it as final or just as a draft which provide the flexibility when you want the post should be published.

6. You can manage your blog account from the editor, modify, add or delete new account from it. You can set which account should be default account as well.

New Adsense GUI

It’s pretty exciting to know that Google Adsense GUI going to be revamped with totally new looks and hopefully with lots more features . But just hold on as it is currently open to few users only as beta tester

At least since 2006 when I first became Adsense Publisher, Google Adsense’s GUI is pretty much the same until now, except additional functionality and enhancement that were introduced from time to time.

If you interested to have sneak preview of what Google Adsense going to be, head to SEORoundTable (link to their Flickr) or the their who had been invited as beta tester. There are couple of screen shots taken which included screen from earning overview , channel data and etc.

I’d like to see Google Adsense be able to display statistical data which now can only be seen from Google Analytics, but further group it based on the channel that we create. Other than that, Adsense is rocks!!
