Create Recovery Disks For HP Notebook

HP Notebook doesn’t come with any driver CD and a copy of operating system. This could well become a headache in case if there is system crash or hardware faulty. Although every HP notebook has Recovery Manager installed on separate hard drive partition,  but that is not going to help if the hard drive becomes corrupted.

The only solution is to have Recovery Disk created from Recovery Manager. But not everyone is aware of this, in case when the salesperson didn’t notify about it, or the owner does not diligently going through his notebook.

To access Recovery Disk Creation menu, from Start Menu >> Recovery Manager >> Recovery Disk Creation. From here, recovery files that are going to be copied into the disk will be created, which took a couple of hours.

Again, it will take a few hours for the recovery files to be copied onto disks. It took me 6 hours for the whole process to complete. Please also be aware that you can only create a recovery CD once. Any attempt after that will be greeted with this error message. Now you have recovery disks created, do make sure you keep it safe.

HTC HD Smartphone To Be Launched Today

htc hd2 launch HTC HD Smartphone To Be Launched Today

You read it right, that HTC HD2 is going to be launched today for Malaysia market. We’re ahead of the US icon smile HTC HD Smartphone To Be Launched Today . It is going to be the ‘biggest’ launch as stated in the promo, but with double “”, it has got to do with something else I guess, such as biggest screen, biggest phone or even ‘biggest’ price…

While I’m still pondering if I should be there, I’ve gone through a lengthy review from GSM Arena about this Windows Mobile 6.5 powered phone, in order not to get over excited. You know,  it is Windows Mobile la.. from Microsoft, not some cool iPhone or Andoid…  Well, that’s just a common perception that the word sometimes come from the person who has never used it. Weird?

In a nutshell, Windows Mobile 6.5 with Sense UI from HTC is really a different thing altogether, unlike it’s predecessor. HTC HD is also equipped with capacitive touchscreen  to appeal more users. Think of iPhone’s touchscreen, not Blackberry Storm.  As Windows Mobile smartphone tends to be slightly expensive than its rival, you should really read the review beforehand, if you plan to get one for yourself . Windows Mobile is thing of the past?? Hold off your word until you try this one.

Skydrive Explorer Turns Windows Live Skydrive To Virtual Directory in Your Computer

I have written about Skydrive, Microsoft’s free online storage many times before. From the early stage with only 5GB storage capacity until it is now with 25GB storage. If you still looking for online storage to backup your files for free, consider this service seriously.

I also have written about Gladinet which mounts Skydrive (and also other online storage such as Amazon, Google), and makes it a virtual drive viewable from inside your computer via Windows Explorer. You can drag and drop, or copy and paste files into your Skydrive without hassle. Gladinet, is a powerful application, but you need to perform extra steps to get it work.

If you prefer a simpler solution to access Skydrive, try Skydrive Explorer. It is so simple that you need not view the instruction on how to use it. After installation, open up your My Computer, and you’ll see that a new Virtual Drive called Skydrive Explorer has been created.

If that is the first time you’re trying to access it, it will prompt you to sign in with your Windows Live account.  Just like your local directory, you can copy and paste files, drag and drop files, create directories and etc.
