Install Blackberry App World in Restricted Countries
Thanks to this post at Crackberry Forum, I have my Blackberry 8520 installed with Blackberry App World. You don’t have to wait RIM to roll out App World to other countries, because using the workaround stated in that post will enable every Blackberry devices to have App World installed.
I know, it is annoying if you can’t install Blackberry App World if you live in countries not yet listed to receive that service. Without apps, the device is just another smart phone on the market.. without soul and boring. As I had said before, RIM is pretty slow in expanding App World, but well.. I don’t care about that anymore now.
Here is the instruction taken from there (credit to Manuelant, member of Crackberry forum)
1. Download the following .Zip File RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting – Easy Filehosting
2. Unzip it to your desktop
3. Copy the files net_rim_bb_appworld.cod, net_rim_bb_appworld_resource_en.cod and JavaLoader.exe to the following folder depending on your Windows OS:
3.1 In Windows Vista “C:\Users\(Your User)
3.2 In Windows XP “C:\DocumentsandSettings\(Your User)
4. Start CMD (Windows Key + R and then type CMD)
5. Plug-in your BlackBerry
6. Type: javaloader -u load net_rim_bb_appworld_resource_en.cod
once done type next one:
7. Type: javaloader -u load net_rim_bb_appworld.codAfterwards your device will reboot and you will have it installed on your device
Tested on Javelin and Bold so far… Not sure if it will work on other devices!STORM Users:
1. Download the following .Zip file: RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting – Easy Filehosting
2. Unzip it to your desktop
3. Run the Blackberry Desktop Manager
4. Select Application Loader
5. Select Add / Remove Applications
6. Select Browse and look at your desktop for the file “appworld.alx” and select it.
7. Click Next and then Finish.
8. ENJOY!!

For OS5 -> use http://bit.ly/AppWorld at you BB browser, which downloaded the app world automatically. Installed in my BB 8520 successfully.
In case, it failed, clear the cache before retry

I’m currently in Egypt with BB Bold 9700. Having trouble to download app world for all the links you have given.. It failed and stated that the problem is 907 invalid COD.. Cab someone help me ..

I also tried the Update 20-Dec-2009 with instruction, and it loaded everything “done”. But when I check my phone, I couldn’t see the app. What’s wrong there?
I’m running a bold 9700 using 5.0.0.442 and neither of the updated links is working for me. Anyone know what I can do? I’ve been getting the same error as ezz when I try the bit.ly link
I also get the 907 COD problem on my blackberry bold 9700 running 5.0.0.443 when i use the bit.ly link. The other link end up just telling my that it can’t install on my unsupported device

Just tried the thrid Update 16-March-2010
directly from my BB9700, I got an error says:
907 Invalid COD
Unable to import ZIP file
Do I have to install it through the PC?
@Khalid,ethoss – I directly download the source file from my BB, but I’m using Curve 8520. I think that this .jad file is not compatible with your OS’s device. But I do read that it works on Bold2, same as yours

Great one, I’ve tried on my BB 8900 and worked very well. It only you gives you access to the free application not the paid ones which I don’t care about anyway. Thanks.

it is still not working for me on my bold 9700 even after using the new application. I still have 907 invalid cod and have also done the alternate .jad loading. Any luck elsewhere and any advices?

it was downloading but during installation it gave me an error 907 invalid COS something like that please help me out,em on bold 9700
I can confirm that the installation for the Bold 9700 doesn’t work. COD error as everyone else described. I also tried Admin’s workaround link (the manual OTA install method through the media card), but the same error occurs.

Im in Egypt and i have a Curve 8250 and i downloaded app world v4.6 and my OS is v4.6.1.314
and when i open App World … I get this msg >YOU MUST UPDATE YOUR CLIENT IN ORDER TO CONTINUE
and of course it diverts me to the blackberry website and finally it says Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements

app world is working gr8 on my mobile curve 8520….
I can install AppWorld with no issue, but cannot d/l any apps from it. In fact, when I launch the app it cannot connect to the AppWorld servers…
@Petar – What is your device and OS? And from which country you’re from? Please check RIM page as App World is now available to more countries

I tried downloading it on a Storm 9500 using one of the OTA links given above. The download went fine, but on start-up, it says “error starting net_rim_bb_appworld: Class ‘net.rim.device.internal.ui.Image’ not found”. What to do now?
I was able to install it… but what’s the use? It still checks my network and doesn’t allow me to use the application to connect to the store
Also tried via Wi-fi, but it won’t allow it
Am I doing somthing wrong or missing something?

I download the 3rd update from my bb browser in bold2 . But it doesn’t connect. I am from greece and app world is rescricted here.. I haven’t tried with wi-fi yet.
Hi, I downloaded appworld from http://bit.ly/bbappsworld with no problem to my BB Bold 9700. I am in Malta which is not listed hence using your site. The message I am now getting is “Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server. Verify your network connections and try again”. Does this suggest that BB App will only work over wifi?

I am in Ghana and using the Bold 9700, OS v5.0.0.405 .. downloaded the AppWorld but it says “BlackBerry App World is having trouble connecting to the BlackBerry App World server. Verify your network connections and try again.” …uhm..which i did…
