Recent enhancement on Google Task seeing 2 new features introduce that allow users to move  task between the lists as well as merging or splitting tasks.

Move List

Like calendar where you have more than 1 calendar for work and personal stuff, task has this feature now too.

To move the task to another list, go to the detail screen by clicking the ‘Action’ menu at the bottom of task listing, choose ‘Edit Detail’  or use the shortcut: shift+enter. On the ‘Move to list’ drop down list, choose the list you want it to be now.

Split/Merge Task

Sometime you have task that too long to be accomplished, so you want it to be seperate to 2 part.

Let say, I want to split the task below ‘Gmail Housekeeping…….’  Just move your cursor to the beginning of the letter/word where you want the new task would be named, and press ‘Enter’. Subsequently, the letter and the rest of word will split to another task.

Do similar thing if you want to merge it back, where you only need to use ‘delete’ button. The task will be merged back to the original one. This concept is very similar with ‘enter’ and ‘delete’ function in Microsoft Words or other word processor so you should already familiar with it.

Happy tasking.
