The new concept of Firefox’s new tab page is still on beta stage, and only available on future Firefox release version 3.5. If you can’t wait for the new tab page style to come, give Foxtab a try.

Foxtab is Firefox add-on that let you turn the blank new tab, to something more interactive. It won’t appear automatically when the new tab page opened, but you have to open it manually from the shortcut menu, available on the left side of the URL bar. That means, it can be opened on top of other tab too, including tab page that displys other web page too.

But unlike other browser’s new tab page that display the recent or most frequently visited websites, Foxtab only shows the websites currently opened. Quite disappointing, since what’s the point of showing the thumbnail of the sites already opened?

Graphical wise, Foxtab is quite impressive. It has 5 navigation layout style including Safari’s new tab page style looks alike and Vista’s Alt-Tab thumbnail preview style.

Head to Foxtab add-on installation page or Foxtab detail page for more information.
