Does this period the most suitable time to launch new websites? Nuffnang launched on 27 Feb 2 years ago, while The Malaysian Insider just have its first anniversary on last 25th February. Good month eh?

When I first discover The Malaysian Insider few months back, I thought this is just another MalaysiaKini wannabe, serving people with only political news and views.  Nothing wrong for that, but it just not my taste anymore. But apparently The Malaysian Insider is more than that.

The contents are the mix of local news (politic, economy, sport, business and etc) as well as international technology, world and business news. There are also foods corner and columnist section. Its like CNN, New York Times or EHT but with Malaysian flavor. Politic news and views are very synonym (or must have) with any online publication including The Malaysian Insider.  However it is presented here with balance views covering both side opposition and government.

Only a year in operation,The Malaysian Insider has achieved considerable amount of traffics judging on its Alexa rank. It has 4/10 pagerank. But both ranks does not really bring anything nowadays in term of SEO or attracting traffic, although it was there as the benchmark where this site currently stood, out of millions other sites out there.

To mark its first anniversary, The Malaysian Insider opened it door to anyone to write their opinion about Malaysian’s politic, economy and etc in 500 words. Top 3 winners stand a chance to get special price which included books from them.

New in Gmail: Multi selection make attaching files easier

After numbers of Gmail enhancement which I using for only few times or as experimental purpose only, this is the real improvement I wish to see long time ago.

To be able to select and attached multiples files in single action is a wish come true for heavy email user.

How to do that?

Hold ‘ctrl‘ or ‘shift‘ key button to choose desired files to be attached. And then, click ok.

Files will be attached right away, and monitor the progress until completion. DONE!! No more hassle of doing repetitive works right?

This is not a new story since it’s been around since early January. I joined Apple’s product mailing list to be the first informed by the latest offering or product, but I put blame on Apple because I only come to know about it, this morning.

It is norm that the first thing I wanna know is the price tag.  I can’t hide the feeling that this monster is damn expensive. RM10k is the amount you have to willingly part away,  if you want to bring this beauty monster home. For bachelor, keep in mind that this is the favorite number for  ‘duit hantaran‘ most parent set nowadays.

But, this is Apple, where price is not the selling point. In fact, Macbook Pro is the top seller notebook in US. Certainly, this notebook is not for  only for PRO, not for me who used to Acer or Dell or HP.

You got what you paid. This beauty monster has stunning looks, thank to aluminum  unibody. It is thinnest and lightest 17 inch notebook in the world, claimed Apple.

Powered by Intel Core 2 Duo chip processor up to 2.96 GHz, 4 GB DDR3 Ram upgradeable to 8GB, 320 GB hard drive, 8 hour battery life (integrated), GeForce 9600M GT graphic card are among the impressive spec ready to rock you.

But beside the thousands of high end chip and electronic parts that powering this notebook, Apple is touting this notebook is among the greenest notebook on its class. It contain contains no arsenic, BFR, mercury, and less PVC as well as the battery life that lasted for up to 5 years. For real, that is another bonus you end up with.

So who needs this notebook? Anyone who has deep pocket, as well as PRO users. Interested users that ready to be PRO, check the spec carefully before decide to part with your 10k.

Those who follows Barcamp’s Googlegroup, must be aware that the first 2009 Barcamp KL is going to be held on 4th and 5th of April 2009. That is the only info available right now. No other detail or even the place where it is going to be held has been revealed just yet.

This is just as heads up to those interested to join in and ensure lock your calendar(for super busy people) for this event. As more update coming in, there will be another post with more detail .

I wish to come, provided no work related commitment from the company I’m currently work on that day. Till then..

Dear Nuffnang, even though you’re not my primary source of income , I’m glad that you still around whensome of your younger rivals has shutted their operation. As fellow Malaysian,  I proud of your achievement, your rise from one small company to be one of the largest online advertiser in Asia.

I know the ride of this journey is not an easy one especially nowadays. The economy has no mercy to anything exist on this planet. But I have belief that you can wheather the gloomy economy, and be one of my main source of income, not today, probably in the future.. hehehe.. give me more okey.
