WD Caviar Green Sata 2TB Hard Drives
What would you do with 2TB hard drive? Imagine, it is on your computer right now. How long do think you can fully utilize all the space? The answer is in your right.
The new Western Digital Digital Caviar Green currently holds the record as the only 2TB hard drive on the market. Yeah, this is the largest for the time being. It is a huge drive, which can only be dreamed few years back. Thanks to the technology, this kind of hard drive now available even to home users, when it is typically use as NAS and storage for the server. Its nearest rival, Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 SATA is not a too far behind with 1.5 TB.
With the massive size, the price is still relatively cheap. Although Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB is not yet available in Malaysian market, a quick check on the Lowyat.net price list such as Pczone, Sri Computer and compuzeon found the price to be in the range of RM360-390 and RM520-550 for 1TB and a.5TB respectively. It is more affordable than before.
It is not suprising if within the next 3-6 months, this size would be double from what it is now. Psst, I’m waiting 10TB notebook hard drives 
We all know that 2 TB hard drive is very big space. So the question is if you have it, what you will do ?
I already have 2 x 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 SATA with Probox 4-Bay Enclosure. The HDD are not design for RAID, so I use like normal HDD.
Right now, my HDD is full and really need to buy new one for slot #3. I still prefer 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 SATA because of its performance. I really hate slow HDD.
I save a lot of files in my 2 HDD:
- high quality pictures
- games collection
- movies
- anime
- softwares
- learning videos
- ebooks
- fonts collection
- graphics
- roms for classic games
- etc
I’m waiting for single 2.5TB HDD then I will buy new 4-Bay Enclosure especially for that HDD. 2TB is still not enough for me. Single 10TB HDD is suit for my taste.
More space = More data collection
