It is interesting to see how social media such as Twitter, which gain their popularity on the internet by connecting and allowing people interacting online, going to the real world along with their community to fulfill the social responsibility for unfortunate one.

The sheer amount of the dedicated users located across the world made this activity possible in a large scale.

Twestival which will be held 12 February 2009 on 170 cities around the world work together to raise as much as fund for Charity:Water project. It is a non-profit organization which aim to provide clear and safe drinking water to those lack of that resource.

No such events in KL, but anyway, anyone can still participate by:

• Attending one of the events detailed on the city sites listed on this page.
• Uploading or buying music at Twestival.fm.
• Taking part in the t-shirt design competition.
• Donating to charity: water.
