Embed your Facebook’s video into your website

In recent Video Just Got Better posted in Facebook blog, Facebook highlighted on how its video section is now supporting high quality videos & audios. That means users can now start to upload videos with such high quality. The only physical restriction is the video must be under 1024 MB and under 20 minutes.

It is mentioned there also that all videos uploaded previously will provide better viewing experience to all, apart from the high quality videos that users can now start to upload.

Another highlight is, you can now embed your videos in Facebook to any websites. I’m highlighting ‘your‘ because you’re only permitted to embed your own videos, unlike Youtube, which has no such restriction.

Performance wise, it is still lagging far behind Youtube, be it during uploading or playing the videos. I think that is the main reason, why it only allows user embedding their own videos at the moment.

The sluggish performance can turn users away unless those who wanted the videos accessible to all friends. I still prefer uploading videos from Youtube and then linked/shared the videos in my Facebook account.

Not an avid video user, this is my first video in Facebook for testing purpose. It is my cousin’s wedding. Play it and compare the results.

This is a good news. I don’t think Google will let their youtube to lose in the “competition” :)

  3. This could be a good idea for people with enough bandwidth to upload and play the videos, but you’re right… youtube is much better for uploading and viewing videos.

  4. I like the quality on this facebook a lot better but you can bet google won’t stand idly by while their competition takes away their business.

Google’s a great company so we can except them to fight back with an even stronger, higher quality youtube. Only time will tell.

Thanks! Yeah, really simple indeed. I am hoping they don’t block it at all, or they block it but enable a new sharing feature for videos!
