Identifying spams no longer a big deal

stopforumspam Identifying spams no longer a big deal

I came across stopforumspam from WP-NoSpamUser. No, I’m not using another anti-spam wordpress plugin, since I still have faith on Akismet and Typed Antispam in protecting this blog from spams.

Stopforumspam is like a directory or maybe a yellow page, which ‘lucky’ spammer listing is based on the IP, email, nickname and where it is originated.

I’m using it quite differently though. Recently i got quite a number of emails from my website’s contact form. Some looks legitimate and real. In order not to be fooled again, I’ll compare sender’s information with the one available on stopforumspam. At least I’m not replying to someone that is not in existence.

in terms of emails, i think Google anti spam tech is quite good, but even if there’s any that got thru, i will delete it

  2. Hmm.. very interesting. Hope innocent ones don’t get listed there!
