The new Google Favicon, apparently is something that’s not new. It is taken from the 5th character on Google logo that has been around since Google is founded.

When I had first discovered about it, I thought the new favicon is only for Google Adsense. At that time, Google.com is still using the old favicon, but apparently, the new favicon is rolled out later. As a much sought after company, the new favicon received mixed feeling from users. Some likes it, some dislikes it and some doesn’t care at all.

If you look closely, the new Google Favicon is almost similar with font Perpetua with a little touch up. Open your word editor, choose font perpetua, and you should be able to get similar font.

Google is not the only company or website using small cap ‘g’ as a logo or favicon. Check this out.
