I still make money online using Kontera

Alhamdulillah. Another Kontera check is on the way home. I reached another USD100, if I’m not mistaken it’s almost 2 months ago, but I lost count since I seldom check out my Kontera lately (due to little earning) and furthermore they didn’t print out last years’ statistic.

They had just recently updated their TOS and publisher profile, so in case if you have not logged in for sometime, you’ll be asked to acknowledge and agree on the new TOS, and also to update the profile and tax info.

Kontera affiliate report
I have no idea how many people has signed up using my affiliate link, but I received 2 emails from Kontera publisher wannabe, whereby Kontera is sending my email address as a publisher login. It was a surprise initially, when someone emailed me with my Kontera account inside, asking why they can’t login into their account using my Kontera account (luckily this is my inactive account). But later it is found to be Kontera’s mistake.

This is one area that Kontera should further improve. Even though it is better than before, compared to when I first joined this program, but it is still lacking certain key features such as payment information, affiliate report and etc. Mailing the support each time we have basic inquiries or tasks is not a good solution.

The report looks confusing a little bit to certain publisher initially, but you’ll get familiar with that over the time.

Kontera ads annoying?

Certain publishers feel that Kontera ads are annoying especially to non-techie readers who think that it is a true link, but personally I don’t think so. In fact, Google Adsense is more annoying than Kontera, since Kontera does not occupy any space, while Google ads are obviously placed in the hot area based on the heat map, where human eyes tend to move first. Yeah, but I know that Google Adsense is widely accepted since it is proven to be successful and brings a lot of money to the publisher.

2 years ago, when I have yet jumped over into IM, I look at all ads as a similar view, it’ll be able to generate tones of money to the owner. But the reality is, it is harder than what I thought last time. But, it is fun when your effort is fruitful.

Why I’m still keeping Kontera?
The first and utmost reason is I never miss earning money on any days, even for only a few cents. Compared to other make-money programs such as Shopping Ads or Widget Bucks, I rarely see any income from widget based make-money program.

Less optimization, unlike Adsense which depends on the ads placement and format, Kontera requires less optimization. With only a few touches, your ads are ready to serve you.

The downside..
Based on my experience, you won’t get much from Kontera, even though a few bloggers earn hundreds each month on last year. It seems like this year does not look promising compared to last year.

Another thing that I feel bad is, their support is slightly slower compared to when I initially joined this program. Perhaps they’re too busy with new publisher

  1. I do think Kontera is annoying, I don’t really like the popup way of showing ads. Anyway, congrats on your earnings.

    My Kontera earning sucks!

I plan to give it up after I receive my first check.

Affiliate earning is still my top choice and priority. :)

Somehow affiliate programs doesn’t work for me.

  4. Raymond Chua says:

Selling affiliate products is not about putting up an affiliate link.

What I do is, I write a review of the product, promote the product through some stories from my blog post, use article marketing and so on.

We must move the free line first.

It involves hardwork but it’s very rewarding.

Just to share. I hope you benefit from it. :)

Well, my commission varies from a few bucks to hundreds.

That’s what I am taught to do by my mentor.

Even the published time is consistent.

I just follow some of his advice only. If I’m going to do them all, I think I would need a committed team. :)

I don’t know about others but it’s true for me. :)

  12. zaki says:

That is quite true. Most of my earning not coming from this blog. Compared to Adsense, as example, for every USD10 ! got from adsense, I only earn USD1 fom kontera. It is little, but better than none, right?
