Maybank Visa Debit Card

Finally I can shop everywhere using my saving account, with no hassle of bringing cash, conveniently checking my spending online (almost real time), and most importantly I’m not owing any banks any money.
I had a bad credit card experience when I started using credit card after I graduated, and I was using it like crazy. Yeah, it’s true, I spent it ridiculously. The impact is, I had only able to settle off all my debt last year. Oh my, it is really wasting my hard earned money, with the interest that is skyrocketing, interest on top of other interest and countless charges and fees. I have not used any credit card since then, and eventhough my company is providing AMEX, I refuse to use it, even though it is a company registered card (which I can still use but paid by myself). I just can’t trust myself with this ‘plastic card’. That’s why I prefer using PB debit card, which I frequently top up the credit whenever I’m traveling.
Back to this card, I got it processed within 20 minutes in Bandar Kinrara Maybank. It costs me MYR12 to replace my old card, and the good thing is, it doesn’t have any annual fee. To test it, I went to a petrol station to pump in fuel and pay using this card, well, it works like a credit card, not like before where I have to key in my pin number.
It has a point system as well, called TreatPoints, but I’m not really going after points by the way. So I can say partial good bye to my PB debit card. Not total good bye, since I’m still using PB debit card for my Paypal, and I feel more secured to shop online using it since I have to top up more money to use it, instead of directly deducting from my saving account.
Good job Maybank (for this particular service only) !!

I tried it on more shops today, it works charm as expected. Haven’t tried on Paypal, because this is my main saving account.
I think I have no problem with that. I have another account that I used for monthly expense and not my main one. I will try to use it with that (if i have the time)
