Use Office Communicator Logger to log your chat on Microsoft Office Communicator

On my environment, MS Office Communicator is widely used instead of Windows Messenger. I’m facing difficulties to automatically log my conversation, compared to Window Messenger which has it’s own logger, Messenger Plus

But fortunately, the problem didn’t lasted long. A friend of mine found the solution at sourceforge.net.

Once you download and install it, spare you time to read their note below
Notes:

RUNNING FOR THE FIRST TIME: The logger does not automatically run after installation. Go to your Startup folder to launch it. And obviously, you will only need to do that once.

RUNNING WITH COMMUNICATOR: The logger cannot initialize without Communicator running. If Communicator has not been started prior to running the logger, a notification bubble will be displayed, and the logger will pause itself. Once Communicator has been started, simply select to unpause the logger from the context menu from the logger’s icon in the system tray. LOGGING: Do not worry if you do not see log files right away. The conversation will be saved once the window is closed.
Once running, it’s icon will appear on your taskbar. From there you have options to view and search the log , view archive log, pause the logger and setup the logger

It is not feature rich, but  it’s good enough to log your IM.

  • Setup how long you want to keep the log
  • Notify when users end the conversation

I used that app for Com 2005 but it doesn’t work with 2007. I know 2007 logs in your outlook but I’d like these nice clean log files like before… oh well :(
