  2. Jayce says:

Free should do the trick. :D

  3. Mert says:

I agree with Raymond, free templates are better than paid ones. Actually if you are happy with your template it is very difficult to switch to another one, even though you know it is necessary. I found tens of very nice templates, yet could not decide yet. I think i need some consultancy on this…

    Thank you so much!

  4. Raymond Chua says:

    Hi Mert,

I have the same problem too.

I just can’t change my theme even though I can find more better one out there.

The reason is simply because I am used to it.

  5. azwanhadzree says:

i’ve been using the same theme for almost a year already. maybe i should choose another 5 theme, set up to hv the same setting and just change when i want too. it will be fresh :)

anyway, if modified properly, these magazine style themes will work well even for a personal blog.

  6. Flimjo says:

I tried the Structure one and didn’t like it. I still like traditional blog themes, particularly the ones from Unique Blog Designs.

  7. zaki says:

Not all blogs suitable with this template. Unless your blog has grown bigger and has massive contents, IMHO stick with your current themes.. Give your new visitor ease of navigation

  8. MK says:

love gridlock and gridfocus for the minimalism (gridfocus is used by sixrevision.com btw)
    nothing beats free.

though you might consider paid theme for identity.
but then again, when it comes to that, i think i’ll design my own :p

  9. MK says:

    ditto. usability comes first

  10. diabetes says:

Wow… that is really nice to have some compare ism with free and paid magazine. Thanks for the discussion .

  11. zaki says:

Hey MK, do you do theme customisation?

  12. zaki says:

Your blog load quite fast. We’re on the server (I use catzer’post to check it) but mine is slow

  13. zaki says:

Hi Jayce, long time not see. Hehe, me too has been a while didn’t visit your blog

  14. nUUr says:

nice theme..but there is also theme that need to buy, i think, free is better. lots of free theme available right?

  15. Syam says:

yup, agree with you raymond, but i think paid theme will get good support from the creator..in term of modification and so on

  16. alzack says:

I like a lot of those magazine themes, but they ‘re paid version…
Then I opted for the “Option Theme”, but it was difficult/hard/confuse to control

  17. zaki says:

There are numbers that are free.I’ll dig more in future

  18. Syam says:

  22. azwanhadzree says:

maybe you should check which one of the javascript is affecting the speed. anyway i;ve added kontera, will see whether the loading speed is affected once it is displaying ads

  23. MK says:

you mean, for my own blog?
well, yes, but only if needed. for example, if it breaks the browser
if not, i wont mess around with the premade layout

  24. azwanhadzree says:

i’m actually testing 2 of it but it still requires a minor modification to fit a blog
